    Table of Contents

Delta 8 carts have exploded in popularity

Ever since Delta 8 THC appeared on the hemp scene, a few years ago, it’s exploded in popularity and, despite many other forms of THC being launched since, Delta 8 continues to dominate the world of legal highs.

One of the most popular ways to consume Delta 8 THC is vaping it, so we’re here to track down and recommend the best Delta 8 carts in the market, to help you find the safest, most effective, and most affordable options available.

    What is Delta 8 THC?

Delta 8 THC is a naturally-occurring cannabinoid that can be found in hemp and cannabis plants. It is very similar to Delta 9 THC in terms of its chemical structure, but it’s estimated to be around half the potency when it comes to its ability to intoxicate.

Delta 8 THC is highly sought after by recreational and medicinal users that are seeking to experience the psychoactive effects and medicinal benefits it offers, which include a smooth and enjoyable high, anxiety relief, improved sleep, and reduced inflammation, to name just a few (learn more about what Delta 8 can be used for here).

Delta 8 cart buyer’s guide: What are the best Delta 8 carts?

As with most things in life, not all vape carts are created equally. Over the past years I’ve tried hundreds of Delta 8 carts and the effects from one cart to the next can vary a lot.

But a cart’s efficacy isn’t the only factor you should consider when you’re shopping for the best Delta 8 carts on the market. Product quality, safety, and price should also factor into your decision.

So, what makes a good Delta 8 cart? And how did we choose our top #5 to feature here?

All of the best D8 cartridges here have several things in common:

    Simple list of ingredients

The best Delta 8 carts will contain just two ingredients:

    • Delta 8 distillate
    • Natural hemp or cannabis terpenes

Over 20,000 terpenes have been identified in nature, and over 150 of these terpenes can be found naturally in hemp plants. Each terpene has a unique aromatic and flavor profile, offering each hemp strain its unique smell and taste, but terpenes also carry their own therapeutic properties.

Linalool, also found in lavender, is best known for its calming properties, as well as its ability to relieve anxiety and depression. Beta-caryophyllene, also found in cloves and black pepper, has been shown to possess potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Not only do these terpenes add therapeutic value, but they also help dictate whether the cart will offer sativa or indica-like effects. Further to this, there is evidence to suggest that terpenes may enhance the effects you feel from the Delta 8 due to a synergy that exists between the compounds (known as the entourage effect).

Finally, terpenes also act as a natural thinning agent, which allows the liquid to be wicked into the heating element more easily.

Many Delta 8 carts on the market use artificial flavors (like diacetyl) and chemical thinning agents (such as propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin). This is a much cheaper way to flavor and thin the liquid but all of these harmful additives are known to cause serious, long-term damage to the lungs when inhaled.

So, steer clear of Delta 8 carts that contain anything other than Delta 8 extract and terpenes!

    Third-party potency testing

The best Delta 8 vape cartridges will also be effective. One way to make sure that your Delta 8 cart will be effective is by checking that the company has third-party lab tests performed on their products to verify their cannabinoid content.

It’s one thing saying that a cart contains 85% Delta 8 distillate, but another thing entirely to prove it, which reputable companies will do by having their carts tested by an accredited lab and then publish their lab results online.

Plus, 85% distillate doesn’t mean that you’ll get 850 mg of Delta 8 per one gram cart as these distillates offer a range of potencies from 70 to 90% purity.

For this reason, a % of Delta 8 distillate doesn’t actually tell you how much D8 exists in the cart. A third party lab report will verify how pure the Delta 8 distillate is, as well as exactly how much Delta 8 THC can be found in the cart.

    Third-party purity testing

It’s also important to check that the Delta 8 carts have been third-party tested for purity. This ensures the carts are made from high-quality hemp and are free from pesticides, heavy metals, microbials, mycotoxins, and residual solvents.

Residual solvent testing is especially important for Delta 8 carts due to the way they’re made (learn more about how to make sure your Delta 8 THC products are safe here).

Unfortunately, many Delta 8 brands on the market don’t carry out purity testing as, despite the risks their products may carry to consumers, they’re more interested in making a quick buck.

But the best Delta 8 brands out there will conduct both potency and purity tests (also known as full-panel testing), so that they know their products are as safe as possible. If you can’t find a certificate of analysis (CoA) for the Delta 8 cart you’re interested in buying, then I’d look elsewhere.

Some of these brands will have purity tests carried out on each cart they produce, while others will test the distillate itself for purity and then have separate potency-only tests for each cart.

    Cart components

Like other vape carts, some Delta 8 cartridges can be prone to clogging and leaking, which is inconvenient, annoying, and wasteful. The risk of these problems occurring with cheap Delta 8 carts (which are usually cheaply manufactured in China) is far greater than with more premium quality built carts.

Unfortunately, there is still a possibility of this happening with more premium carts, but you will find that it happens much less often. Plus, buying your Delta 8 carts online from a reputable vendor will ensure that, if you experience any problems like this, you’ll be compensated in some way.

    Affordability

Finally, having sky high standards when it comes to your Delta 8 carts doesn’t mean that the price has to be sky high. The carts we chose to feature in this list not only tick all the boxes on this list, when it comes to ingredients, testing, and cart build, but they also carry an affordable price-tag.

USPS PACT act: The PACT (Prevent All Cigarette Trafficking) Act, initially passed in 2009 and is a law that was designed to prevent the illegal sale and distribution of cigarettes and vape products. It effectively bans the USPS from delivering vape cartridges, forcing vape companies to use more expensive, private courier services that offer age verification.

If a company uses USPS while shipping vape product to your door, they are most likely breaking the PACT act. Many still do it but I recommend using companies that are compliant even if they are slightly more expensive.

    Are Delta 8 carts safe?

There hasn’t been any specific research evaluating the safety of this compound (yet), so it’s impossible to comment on the safety of Delta 8 carts, with any certainty. However, Delta 8 THC occurs naturally in cannabis and hemp plants, so it’s widely assumed that it’s just as safe as any other cannabinoid.

Further to this, there is plenty of anecdotal evidence that suggests that Delta 8 THC is not addictive, there have been no associated deaths or injury, and the adverse effects appear to be mild and infrequent (similar to Delta 9 THC).

Read more about Delta 8 THC safety here (including more about the potential side effects) and stick to our list of the best delta 8 carts brands (above) to ensure you end up with the safest option possible.

How much are Delta 8 carts?

One of the best Delta 8 carts on the market right now starts at just $11.50 (from Galaxy Treats at #2 on this list) but you can save a further 20% when you use our special discount code CBDINC20.

Delta 8 carts vary massively when it comes to the price, but don’t let just any cheap Delta 8 cart fool you into making a purchase, because the quality, safety, and effects fluctuate just as much as the price.

Stick to our list of pre-vetted Delta 8 carts here to ensure you’re not compromising your health.

Who has the most potent Delta 8 carts?

Containing a whopping 929 mg of Delta 8 THC per one gram cart, you’ll find the strongest Delta 8 cart is currently made by Binoid CBD (number #3 on this list).

What is the best voltage for Delta 8 carts?

The best voltage to vape a Delta 8 cart lies somewhere between 2.5V and 3.3V. Generally-speaking, most people choose to vape D8 between 2.5V and 3V, but if you prefer larger vapor clouds then you might prefer to vape it at the higher voltage of 3.3V.

How to tell if delta 8 carts are fake?

Fake Delta 8 carts should be relatively easy to spot once you know what you’re looking for. The easiest way to make sure you end up with legit Delta 8 carts is by checking for third-party lab reports (for potency and purity).

I highly recommend that you buy your Delta 8 carts online so that you have time to research the brand in question. Ordering online will also make it easier to contact the brand directly if you experience problems.

How long do Delta 8 carts last?

A 1g Delta 8 THC cart should last between 200 and 400 puffs or for up to 2 years, when properly stored. A number of factors influence a cart’s longevity, including how often you use it, how much you inhale each time, your vape battery voltage, the cart quality, and how/where you store it between uses.

    How to store vape carts

Sunlight and heat may change the composition of the cannabinoids in your Delta 8 vape cart over time. So, when you’re not using your cart, it’s best to keep it stored at room temperature and out of direct sunlight to prevent the cannabinoids from degrading.

Why is my Delta 8 cart not hitting?

If your Delta 8 cart isn’t hitting then the first thing you should do to troubleshoot the problem is double check that you battery is charged. If it’s charged, then check it’s working properly by testing it with another cart.

Once you’ve ruled out that the problem lies with the battery, then you might have a clogged cart, which can sometimes happen if if the liquid is too thick or there is a buildup of residue in the cart.

You can try tipping the cart from side to the other (and upside down) to move the oil around and tap it lightly on a hard surface to dislodge any air bubbles. You can also try gently blowing into the mouthpiece to remove the clog or poking a paperclip into the holes at either end of the cart to see if you can remove the blockage.

If you still can’t get it working, then contact the brand or vendor that you bought it from to see if they have any other advice or can offer you a replacement.

    Summary

Despite the lack of regulation in the hemp industry, some brands are making a real effort to make sure that they’re selling high quality products to give customers like us the safest and best experience possible. I’ve featured five such brands here and hope you enjoy your vape carts as much as I do.

If you do want to go off-list, then I recommend you make sure that your chosen Delta 8 products have proof of third-party laboratory testing for potency AND purity. A comprehensive CoA, alongside positive customer reviews, is one of the best ways to spot a decent D8 supplier amongst the many many bad ones out there.

    Good luck and enjoy!
