Who is this product for?

The Kind Pen Mist is a great option for those looking for a budget-friendly, lightweight, and portable vaping device, but don’t mind spending a little extra to get something that lasts.

If you’re sick of wasting money on clogging or leaking carts, then the Mist could be exactly what you’re looking for as it stores your vape carts properly (in an upright position), when you’re not using it.

This device will also be ideal for you if you’re looking for a versatile vape battery that accommodates both pre-filled, disposable vape carts, as well as your choice of preferred e-liquid. Thanks to the refillable cartridge included in the box, you get the best of both worlds, so you can switch between the two.

And the versatility doesn’t stop there as this adjustable voltage battery offers three different heat settings (a low-, medium-, and high-voltage option). This means that this device will also suit those that are looking to vape different kinds of liquids with any type of coil, ensuring you get the best vaping experience for each different session.

However, if you mainly use your vape battery for vape juice, then you might want to invest in a bigger refillable cart to go with the Mist, as the one it comes with is quite small.

Overview of features

Vape batteries have come a long way over the years, and nowhere is this evolution more evident than in The Kind Pen’s Mist vaporizer. This device has more than few thoughtful features incorporated to eliminate some of the common problems that vapers experience.

Here are some of the key features that I appreciated, as well as some of my thoughts on how the device could be improved.

1. Awesome battery life

The Kind Pen Mist battery

One of the things I love most about the Mist is the long-lasting battery life it offers (500 mAh battery capacity), perfect for vapers who may not want (or remember) to charge their device every day. Owning so many things that need charging all the time can be a pain, but this device seems to last for ages between charges which is a refreshing change.

You should be aware, however, that this device isn’t ready to be used, straight out of the box. You have to charge it fully before you use it for the first time.

2. Reduces risk of cartridge leak and clogs

Parts of the Mist vape pen

Like many others, I own several vape batteries that are pen-shaped: long, round, and slim. These devices are great space-savers but they need frequent charging and if you leave them on their side, they can be prone to leakages, leaving you with a sticky mess.

This more traditional portable vape pen design also causes cartridges to clog and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to throw away unfinished carts because of bad storage issues.

The Mist device completely eliminates this problem by keeping the vape cartridge upright when not in use. The atomizer is properly saturated at all times and I haven’t had a clogging and/or leaking issue since I’ve had it!

3. Versatile heat settings & preheat option

If you enjoy being in control of your vaping temperatures, the Mist device offers three voltage types: a low 2.4 volt setting, a medium 2.8 volts, and a high 3.2 volts. Each voltage is indicated on the device by a specific color (green, blue, and red, respectively).

Oils with a thin-medium consistency (250mg) should be used on low voltage, medium-thick consistency (500-1000mg) should be used on medium voltage, and extremely thick oils (1000mg+) should be used on high voltage. And this device allows you to vaporize all three at their perfect temperature setting.

The Mist device also comes with a preheat option, an incredibly useful option in the winter to get the oil moving through the vape. In fact, if you live somewhere that experiences cold winters, then you probably already know that you need a preheat button in your life. During a Wisconsin winter, I just can’t get the liquid moving without it.

Many people also like to preheat their vape carts prior to using because it provides a smoother hit/experience.

However, If you tend to change your voltages/temperatures outdoors, the LED lights (that indicate what voltage it’s set at) are difficult to read accurately in direct sunlight.

4. Compatible with disposable vape carts & traditional e-liquid

Mist The Kind Pen Vape

The device can be used with disposable vape carts or vape juice, making it ideal for vapers who enjoy both.

The Mist comes complete with an empty ceramic wickless tank that you can fill up (and refill) with your favorite CBD vape juice, saving you a ton of money. But you can also just unscrew the tank and attach a standard disposable cart on there instead (510-thread tanks).

This also gives you freedom to experiment with making your own vape juices too (with different cannabinoid blends) and it will also work with nicotine e-liquids.

5. Lightweight and portable design

Mist kind pen size comparison with lighter

The device is described as “smaller than a lighter,” and it really is, which comes in handy when you’re out and about and ideal for those looking to avoid weighted pockets/bags.

It’s so small that it can be concealed completely in your palm (you can just close your hand around it) for those times when you need to vape more stealthily. Personally-speaking, this is a godsend when I’m around younger, more-impressionable folk.

The size of this device could also be seen as a drawback, however, as it’s easy to lose in deep coat pockets or bags with multiple sections. Try to find a snug pocket in a bag or wear clothes with shallow pockets to avoid losing the device and forgetting where you last had it!

6. Lifetime warranty

Lifetime Warranty

I find that most vape pen batteries tend to have a relatively short lifespan of around 6 months (12 months if you’re lucky), but the Mist is designed to last you a lifetime(!) 🤯

Yes, you heard it right. The Kind Pen offers a lifetime warranty, meaning this could be the last vaporizer you ever have to buy. If it breaks or you start experiencing problems with it, The Kind Pen will replace the device free of charge.

Amazing.

Is it worth the money?

It is possible to find low-budget vape batteries from around $10 and the Mist vaporizer is priced at $29.99, which might put some people off at first glance. However, this device offers so much more value.

In fact, I can’t believe it’s this affordable!

Firstly, the Mist comes with a lifetime warranty. Why spend $10 every 6 months, when you can spend $30 for something that will last you a lifetime?

Further to this, the Mist has several features which make it worth spending $30 in the first place, despite the lifetime warranty. This includes the superior battery life, preheat feature, and variable voltage. The fact that this battery keeps your vape cartridge in an upright position will also save you a ton of money on leaking and clogged carts.

Lastly, the portable, palm-size of this device is adorable and stylish at the same time. I keep getting asked, “what is that?” and “where did you get that from?” which is a great conversation starter amongst fellow vapers. Considering that the majority of vape carts are already $20-$30 a pop, spending that same amount on a stylish, portable device with a plethora of features is well worth it.

How to use the Mist Device

As mentioned previously, before using the device you should charge the device fully. The majority of devices will have a small amount of charge, but won’t work to their full potential without a proper charge.

Similar to many box mods and other vaporizers, the Mist device is powered on/off by clicking the power button five times in rapid succession. Additionally, clicking that same button twice activates the preheat function. Although, the manufacturer cautions sparing use of the preheat function to avoid unnecessarily shortening of the device’s battery life.

Loading a vape cartridge is fairly simple: screw in from the base of the vape cart. Screwing in by the mouthpiece has a tendency to loosen the duckbill tip and can leave the entire cart stuck inside the device (more likely to happen with cheap carts).

To fill the reusable tank it comes with, twist off the mouthpiece and fill it up with your liquid. I’d recommend a syringe or something with a blunt tip if you don’t have an eyedropper handy. Once you’ve reached the ¾ mark, simply screw the mouthpiece back on and wipe away any spilled liquid/oil with a clean cloth. Screw the freshly-filled cartridge into the base of the device, and you’re ready to go!

Conclusion

I am delighted with how compact, discreet, and affordable the Mist device is. In addition to offering variable temperatures, a preheat option, and being lightweight, it solved problems I didn’t even know I had by keeping the cart upright when not in use. I always blamed the carts when they leaked or clogged, but I guess I wasn’t helping matters by storing them incorrectly!

The Mist device is a far cry from my cheapo pen-style vape battery and, I must say, a beautiful upgrade that would make an awesome gift.

As an avid vaper and lover of vape cartridges, I’m also pleased that I can now use vape juice with the included spare cartridge. I never knew what I was missing all of these years, but I can safely say that I’ll be using this Mist Device for many years to come.
