Tesla sees EV deliveries drop for the first time since 2020

Elon Musk led electric vehicle company Tesla has just announced bad news. The company’s electric vehicle deliveries dropped year-over-year for the first quarter of 2024. This is a big deal because this marks the first such decline since 2020. The company delivered total 386,810 vehicles, which is 8.5% lower compared to the same period in 2023. Clearly, increased competition in the EV car market coupled with production issues and even changes in consumer demand is giving a major headache to Tesla. It remains to be seen whether this is just a temporary blip or a sign of more long-term challenges for the company.
