Monster Hunting Cheatsheet Hell Drider

Date:

If all the Lords Mobile monsters held an “Ugly Contest,” I think the Hell Drider might take the W. This demon is miserable to look at and not a lot of fun to fight. And that last one is why you’re here, right? You need some help beating it instead of losing over and over again?

Fine, I suppose I could spare a few minutes of my precious time to share a few pointers. Read on for lineup advice and tips on the best ways to beat Hell Drider and get your hands on those beautiful Mutated Brains it drops.

How to Attack Hell Drider?

Hell Drider Monster HuntHell Drider Monster Hunt

You’re a pretty basic person, so I’m going to start with the basics: the Hell Drider will appear on the map for 2hrs 55mins. That’s how long you have to beat it. If you can beat it during that time, another one will spawn, and you can defeat multiple Driders to get lots of loot.

But, in order to beat even one of these freaky demon crabs, you’ll need my help. Not anyone else’s! I’ve seen idiots online sharing the dumbest “tips” to beat this monster, and they could not be more wrong. Apparently, I’m the only one who actually knows how to play this game.

So, what’s this thing weak against? Well, it has really high levels of defense against magic attacks, so you won’t want to use any intelligence heroes. It’s also pretty good at taking physical attacks, but it struggles with ranged damage.

If you can’t put two and two together, here’s what that all means: you need to use agility heroes to beat this thing. And you also need to use your biggest damage dealers, as the Hell Drider has a kind of force field around it to soak up damage.

It’s also got some nasty attacks. It tends to target whichever hero in your party has the most HP, but its attacks also cause splash damage to other party members. In other words, it’s a real pain to fight.

Hell Drider F2P Lineup

With the right lineup, you can send the Hell Drider back to hell. And there are several F2P heroes who can bring this beast down, as long as you line them up in the right order. Don’t worry, I’ll help with that. I know you’re incapable of doing anything without me.

As I said above, agility heroes can do the most damage to this monster. And if you can make a lineup full of maxed-out archers, you’ll have no worries. If you don’t have enough high-level agility heroes, you might need to make some adjustments.

Remember, it’s always best to use your higher-level heroes in any monster battle. They do the most damage, and they’re capable of taking the hardest hits.

Now, let’s look at the lineups, starting off with the best option when fighting low-level (1-3) versions of the Hell Drider.

Level 1-3 Hell Drider F2P Hero Lineup: Black Crow, Demon Slayer, Scarlet Bolt, Tracker, Trickster

If you know the basic hero mechanics and stats, this lineup shouldn’t be surprising. It includes some of the strongest AGI heroes in the game, like Black Crow and Demon Slayer.

Level 4-5 Hell Drider F2P Hero Lineup: Black Crow, Demon Slayer, Scarlet Bolt, Death Archer, Trickster

At the higher levels, the lineup changes just slightly. We lose Tracker and bring in Death Archer. Why? Well, dumb-dumb, it’s because the Hell Drider gets even deadlier at high levels. Death Archer can deal useful poison damage while strengthening your other heroes if any member of the lineup dies.

Hell Drider P2P Lineup

P2P players who don’t mind feeding the capitalist machine can pay up to get even better heroes for beating the Hell Drider. If you have paid heroes in your roster, you’ll find it’s even easier to kill this boss. In fact, you really shouldn’t need my help with this. I’m embarrassed for you.

Anyway, let’s get on to the lineups.

Level 1-4 Hell Drider P2P Hero Lineup: Black Crow, Scarlet Bolt, Demon Slayer, Cursed Hunter, Mastercook

For the first four levels of Hell Drider, this lineup should get the job done. I’ve tested it myself many times, and it never fails. The F2P trio (Black Crow, Scarlet Bolt, and Demon Slayer) are good enough to do big damage, while Cursed Hunter offers some handy healing and Mastercook can temporarily stun its enemies.

Level 5 Hell Drider P2P Hero Lineup: Demon Slayer, Femme Fatale, Vengeful Centaur, Black Crow, Boommeister

For level 5 encounters, I’m shaking things up entirely! We hold onto Black Crow and Demon Slayer, thanks to their reliable damage-dealing potential. But we bring in Femme Fatale to weaken the Drider, as well as Boommeister and Vengeful Centaur for heavy hits and control to finish the fight faster.

You can also stick with the level 1-4 lineup and just swap out Mastercook for Boommeister. That’ll work too, and I’ve seen other players using that lineup. Pick whichever one you prefer. I’m not here to make all your decisions for you.

Hell Drider Rewards

I know that the whole reason you clicked on this guide is because you want to get some loot, am I right? You want to see some sparkly items appear on your screen, giving you a quick dash of dopamine to liven up your boring life? Well, you’re in luck, as the Hell Drider drops some pretty interesting treasure.

Here’s a full list:

Hell Drider RewardsHell Drider Rewards
  • Chest (Common to Legendary, depending on the level)
  • Speed Up (Between 1h and 24h)
  • Shield (8h to 3d)
  • Gems (200 to 1,000)
  • Gold (15k to 600k)
  • Devil Horn
  • Metal Scraps
  • Mutated Brain
  • Smoldering Core

As you can see, it’s mostly the same old rewards you get from defeating most normal monsters. The final four items are used to make the Hell Drider Set, which includes a couple of fun items.

Gears

Let’s talk about the Hell Drider Set. The “community” has a bunch of opinions on this set, but mine is really the only one that matters. And I think… it’s okay. The Burning Scrolls are excellent and the Skullcrusher is very solid. The Dark Aegis is a good value item as well.

A lot of folks love the Armor of the Abyss, but those folks are dumb. It’s fine at low levels, or if you turn back time five years, but these days, Lords Mobile has lots of other better armor pieces to choose from.

Here’s the full set:

Hell Drider GearHell Drider Gear
  • Burning Scroll: Burning Scrolls might just be the standout item from the whole set. They boost your army HP and ATK by 12.6% (at Mythic level), but the real bonus comes to timber production, which rises by 49%! That’s so helpful when you want to make upgrades quickly.
  • Armor of the Abyss: Ugh, the Armor of the Abyss. I can say one nice thing about this armor: it’s cheap. That’s it. Apart from that, it’s pretty useless, giving a measly 7% boost to infantry DEF, army ATK, and cavalry HP. For an item with such a cool name and design, this thing should be so much better.
  • Legs of the Deceiver: Another mostly disappointing item. The Legs of the Deceiver provide a 7% boost to ranged ATK and 21% more ranged DEF, as well as 16.8% more army ATK.
  • Skullcrusher: Now we’re getting to the good stuff. The Skullcrusher needs a ton of materials to make, including nine mutated brains (no, you’re not allowed to use your own). However, if you can put the stuff together to make this thing, it’s worth it. It gives you 21% more ranged ATK, 35% infantry DEF, and a huge 28% boost to army ATK.
  • Dark Aegis: The Dark Aegis is way cheaper to make than the Skullcrusher, and like I said earlier, it’s a decent value off-hand for lower-level players. With it, you’ll have 14% more infantry and army ATK.

Hell Drider Packs

If you still can’t beat the Hell Drider, even with all my tips and lineups, you might need to just stop playing games. Otherwise, you can buy your way to success by paying for Hell Drider Chests. They’ll give you the same items you’d get for beating a Hell Drider, with none of the effort or satisfaction.

Final Thoughts

There you have it. Another monster was destroyed. That wasn’t so hard, was it? Just remember to use as many archers as you can. If you don’t have high-level AGI heroes yet, take some time to boost them up and use the right gear to make your lineup as strong as it can be.

Then, once you start smashing the Hell Drider, you can start saving up for the gear. Once again, I recommend focusing on the Burning Scrolls and Skullcrusher. Ignore the Armor of the Abyss. Unless you hate yourself and love wasting your own time. In which case, go right ahead. What are the best gears? Here you go.
