Now that Tour 2 of the 2023 DPC Division I is over in all regions, the best teams in the world have a couple of weeks until the beginning of the Berlin Major 2023. This means it’s time for them to focus on one of the biggest non-DPC events – DreamLeague Season 19. The latter has a jaw-dropping $1,000,000 reward and will include the best teams from all regions.

DreamLeague Season 19 will start in just a couple of days, so it’s time to learn more about it. Don’t forget to check some of the best sites for Dota 2 betting, as well as our tips about some of the hottest matches from the event.

DreamLeague Season 19 Overview

As its name suggests, this will be the 19th season of DreamLeague, one of the most popular tournaments in Dota 2. The event will take between April 9 and April 23 and will include 16 teams. Interestingly, it will be online, meaning teams won’t have to travel somewhere to take part in it.

Besides 16 of the world’s leading Dota 2 teams, DreamLeague Season 19 will be special because of its massive $1M prize pool. Unsurprisingly, this makes it one of the tournaments with the highest prize pools in the game.

Participants, Group Stage & Playoffs at DreamLeague Season 19

The 16 teams that will take place in the tournaments will be divided into two groups of 8 Dota 2 teams each. They must play in a round-robin format where all matches are Bo2. Once the DreamLeague Season 19 Group Stage is over, the best 4 teams will advance the Group Stage 2, whereas the others will be eliminated.

Speaking of the devil, Group Stage 2 will consist of one group of 8 teams, where the top 2 will advance to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs. The teams that finish 3rd and 4th will go to the Lower Bracket of the playoffs, whereas the remaining ones will be eliminated from the event.

Regarding the Playoffs, DreamLeague S19 will give us access to a double-elimination bracket where all matches are in Bo3. Of course, the Grand Final will be in a Bo5, and the winning team will receive a slot for the Riyadh Masters 2023.

Regarding the Dota 2 teams that will be a part of DreamLeague Season 19, 5 of them are from Western Europe, two are from EEU, SA, China, and SEA. The remaining 3 are from North America.

DreamLeague Season 19 Participants

Even though some people might be slightly disappointed that some regions only got 2 slots for this event, DreamLeague Season 19 will offer us tons of action. You can expect to find the best from every part of the world, so let’s check out all of the squads from each region.

Western Europe

Starting with the elephant in the room, Western Europe is the best region in Dota 2, which is why it received 5 slots in total. Some fans probably think that it deserved more, but here are the squads we will be able to watch:

• Gaimin Gladiators
• Tundra Esports
• Team Liquid
• Entity
• OG

After Division I of Tour 2 of the 2023 DPC came to an end, it became clear that Team Liquid was still the best. The squad only lost one match in the entire DPC, so we’re not surprised it made its way here. Gaimin Gladiators, the Lima Major 2023, also received an invitation, and the same applies to the TI 1 winners Team Tundra.

Lastly, we have Entity and OG, two teams that didn’t perform as well as some fans expected. OG was in a terrible spot but bzm and co. managed to snatch the last spot for the Major. Sadly, this didn’t happen to Entity, so the team will miss out on the second Major for the 2023 DPC.

Eastern Europe

When it comes down to the Eastern European teams that will be a part of DreamLeague Season 19, we will see the following:

• Team Spirit 
• HellRaisers

To be honest, most people aren’t surprised that these Dota 2 teams were the ones that received the invitation. Spirit has been the best in this part of the world for several years now, whereas HR is the hottest squad in the region.

Speaking of HellRaisers, RAMZES666 and the rest concluded Tour 2 of the EEU DPC without losing a single series. This makes them one of the big DreamLeague Season 19 favorites.

North America

One of the biggest surprised related to DreamLeague S19 is that there will be 3 North American teams. Even though some people don’t think the teams here are as good as the best from other parts of the world, we will see the following names:

• TSM
• Shopify Rebellion
• Nouns

TSM finished first in Tour 1 and will attend the upcoming Major. EG’s ex-roster also qualified for the event, even though it lost its match against Timado’s squad. Sadly, nouns couldn’t join them because the team finished first, and NA only has 2 slots for the Major.

South America

The South American Dota 2 region has become one of the most interesting in the last few years. Fortunately, the organizers behind this non-DPC event realized it, which is why they’ve decided to invite the following:

• Beastcoast
• Evil Geniuses

Considering the results in the 2023 DPC so far, there is no arguing that these 2 teams are on another level in South America. We can’t wait to see them in action against the best in the world at DreamLeague Season 19.

Southeast Asia

One of the most popular online tournaments of 2023 will allow us to watch 2 of the best Southeast Asian teams in the world:

• Execration
• Talon Esports

Some fans of the region probably thought that Team SMG should have been on the list, but the organizers decided not to include them. Nevertheless, Talon and Execration are two teams capable of defeating everyone, so we can’t wait to see them in action.

China

Finally, we also have 2 Chinese representatives that will do everything they can to defeat their Western counterparts. Speaking of the devil, here are the 2 teams that will give everything they offer at DreamLeague Season 19:

Normally, both teams have what it takes to defeat their opponents. However, considering that DreamLeage Season 19 will be held online, it will be interesting to see whether the ping will be a problem.
