After the jam-packed release month of October, it might be good news or bad news to realize that November is similarly stocked with huge video game launches. It’s Call of Duty’s month, for sure, thanks to the incoming rollout of Modern Warfare III—but various other compelling titles are launching across all platforms this month.

Looking to size up your gaming schedule for the coming weeks? These are the biggest games releasing in November 2023, complete with trailers to give you a look at what’s coming.

RoboCop: Rogue City (Nov. 2)

Licensed games are famously hit-or-miss, and the idea that a RoboCop game would warrant much attention in 2023 is admittedly surprising. But following the release of a strong demo last month, RoboCop: Rogue City is generating a fair bit of a buzz as a game that feels like a welcome throwback to the simpler shooter campaigns of the early aughts.

Launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, RoboCop: Rogue City serves as a stand-in for the third film we never got, bringing back original actor Peter Weller as the titular cybernetically enhanced cop to blast through Detroit’s biggest threats. It serves up a different vibe and feel than today’s top shooters—for the better, if the demo is any indication.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name (Nov. 9)

Sega’s cult favorite Yakuza series continues this month with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, revisiting the franchise’s original hero Kazuma Kiryu as he comes out of hiding to battle a new threat across Osaka and Yokohama in Japan.

This digital-exclusive release follows numerous other Yakuza games, so it’s probably not the best starting point for newcomers—plus another entry, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, is due out in January. But these games are routinely acclaimed and beloved by players, so Like a Dragon Gaiden will likely be another worthy pick for series fans. And it’ll be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers on day one, as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III (Nov. 10)

It’s Call of Duty time, just as it has been around this time almost every year for two decades now. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III shares its name with an earlier entry, plus it borrows multiplayer maps from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, making it something of a hodgepodge of new and old. But there’s certainly a lot here.

In addition to a new campaign that promises more open-ended gameplay choices, Modern Warfare III launches with the usual robust multiplayer suite, what’s promised to be the largest Zombies map to date, and the ability to carry over your progress from last year’s game. It probably won’t convince anyone that’s tired of the shooter series, but last month’s online beta pointed to another polished, tried-and-true Modern Warfare experience.

Phantom Galaxies (Nov. 15)

More robust and polished blockchain games are starting to roll out, and Animoca Brands’ Phantom Galaxies is set to launch in early access on November 15. Built around NFT mechs and avatars, this mech shooter lets you pilot giant robots both in space and on the ground, with lavish graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5.

It’s launching on Steam and the Epic Games Store on PC, so it appears that at least the Steam version will lack NFT support given the platform’s stance on blockchain tech.

Persona 5 Tactica (Nov. 16)

Spun off from role-player Persona 5, which was widely hailed as a modern masterpiece, Persona 5 Tactica puts a tactical strategy spin on the franchise with a more cutesy twist on the series cel-shaded aesthetic, too. This one will debut far and wide, debuting on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with the Xbox version available to Game Pass subscribers at launch.

Super Mario RPG (Nov. 17)

Just as Switch fans might be winding down on last month’s brilliant Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Nintendo is ready to keep them busy potentially through the rest of the holidays with Super Mario RPG. It’s ostensibly a modern upgrade of a classic, taking the well-reviewed Super Nintendo original from 1996 and giving it a major facelift, complete with cinematics. Hopefully, it packs some other enhancements and refinements, too.
