Pokémon Blaze Black and Volt White are two of Drayano’s earliest paired ROM hack projects. They are enhancement hacks meant to enrich the already masterful experience of the original games. They have all 649 Pokémon that were around at the time of Gen 5 and have edited team rosters and story events.

  • Items found in the field have been changed considerably, to include TMs, evolution items and fossils previously only found post-League. The items have been adjusted in such a way that makes it convenient for the game’s progress.
  • It isn’t just trainers and wild Pokémon who have had their levels changed; event Pokémon such as Reshiram and Zekrom have also had their levels changed, ensuring that they don’t become useless due to the sharp increase in levels.
  • All five in-game trades have also been edited, giving new possibilities for teams.
  • A small number of attacks have also been changed to make them more useful, generally in terms of power (and rarely, type).

How to Install

Similar to Sacred Gold and Storm Silver, people need an emulator to play this ROM hack. They can do this on their laptops or any handheld devices. For computers, players can use DesMume. On iPhones and other devices, they can use the Delta emulator.

Players can go to any number of sites to download the ROM as a whole on their computers. For mobile, players need to download a clean ROM of Pokémon Black and White. They then need to download the patch to make the file into the ROM hack.

Using a website for patching GBA and DS Roms, players can patch their ROM and then open it in Delta. It’s super easy to and players can find the link to the patcher here.
