As reported a few days ago, the Overwatch 2 Season 7 end date is approaching, which means that Season 8 is really close. What’s so interesting about it is that it will add Mauga, a new map, and a lot of other things. We just need to wait for the Overwatch 2 Season 8 release date to learn more about everything.

Having said that, we’ve played Season 7 long enough to prepare a list of the top heroes of Overwatch 2 Season 7. We will analyze the Competitive Play bracket and learn more about what could change.

Overwatch 2 Season 7 Top Heroes – What we’ll cover

As mentioned, we will cover the most successful heroes in Competitive Play. Since more people play on a PC than on a console, we will focus on this aspect. Illari

The data from S7 reveals that Illari is the clear winner when it comes to the win rate. The deadly support hero has a 53% win rate so far, which is really impressive when you compare it to the rest. You may be surprised, but people who are preparing for the Overwatch 2 Season 8 date announcement won’t be.

Illari is among the OW2 heroes who have received the most nerfs in the last couple of months. The hero was absolutely broken when she became available, but things have changed since then. She continues to be a solid pick, but the many nerfs made her easier to deal with. Nevertheless, this continues to be an extremely annoying hero to play against, so it will be interesting to see her success in the future.

Brigitte

Strangely, the second sport in the Overwatch 2 Season 7 top heroes list is for another support – Brigitte. She has been the queen of the brawl setup for a while now and will most likely continue to dominate in the game. Despite not having the best pick rate (around 1.51%), her success rate is almost 52%. Therefore, we wouldn’t be surprised if she receives special skins and other items in the Overwatch 2 Season 8 Battle Pass.

In the current meta, Brigitte works extremely well with all hot tanks. Her ability to stay in the heart of battle makes her a dangerous enemy to play against and an amazing teammate to have.

Junker Queen

The first two spots on the list were for support, but number 3 on the list is Junker Queen. Her win rate is close to Brigitte’s, but it is slightly lower due to the fact that she is more complex to play. 

Besides having some of the best Overwatch 2 Season 7 skins, Junker Queen is also among the more enjoyable tanks to play with. Our experience has shown that she can carry games as long as there aren’t hard counters on the enemy team. With that said, we expect her to continue to be among the best heroes in the upcoming season.

Considering that the new Overwatch 2 Season 8 tank Mauga will become available soon, it will be interesting to see how others will adapt. We had the chance to play with Mauga for a bit, and he is definitely a hero who deserves more attention. However, he also does not have a reliable shield like JQ, which means both heroes will have a similar role.

Torbjron

When it comes down to damage dealers, Torb is among the Overwatch 2 Season 7 top heroes and his win rate is just a hair below Junker Queen. This may not come as a surprise to people who’ve been playing a lot lately because Torb is really strong in ma variety of situations. The hero can be an excellent pick to have when you need someone to defend, but we see more and more people use him on the offense.
When it comes down to the hero’s role in Season 8, we believe he will be an even better pick. Sure, he may get a few small nerfs, but we expect Mauga to be extremely popular. If that’s the case, Torb will be an excellent option because his Turret will be able to do a lot of damage. 

Sigma

One of the Overwatch 2 Season 8 skins we expect to see in the new season will be related to Sigma. He has been one of the best tank heroes for a while and is among the top-tier picks for many combos. Considering his popularity and his more than 51% win rate, it is no surprise that Sigma may receive positive changes.

He is among the Overwatch 2 Season 7 top heroes for a lot of reasons, but the main one is his ability to shine in the poke strat. Although heroes like Hanzo and Widowmaker are not the best right now, they can work well alongside Sigma, especially on big and open maps.

Doomfirst

The last name on the list of the Overwatch 2 Season 7 top heroes is Doomfirst. His win rate is almost the same as Sigma’s, and the same applies to his pick rate. However, Doomfirst is a lot more efficient on most maps and when used with other heroes. That’s one of the reasons why a lot of people put him in the S-tier

In terms of future predictions, we are yet to see what the Overwatch 2 Season 8 roadmap has to offer. Doomfirst has always been one of the names that receive more changes than others, so we can expect more buffs and nerfs.
