NFL Draft Prospects in the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl

Date:

The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

Kansas Jayhawks Draft Prospects

Dominick Puni, IOL

Puni spent four seasons at Central Missouri where he played right and left tackle. He transferred into Kansas before the 2023 season. Puni’s play helped Kansas make their second-straight bowl game with eight total wins.

He stands at 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds, which is solid size for an NFL offensive tackle. Puni’s ability to play multiple positions on the offensive line will be valuable in the draft process. He was invited to the Senior Bowl as well, which will be good to get more exposure after playing at the FBS level for just one season.

Projected Draft Range: 4th Round Pick-6th Round Pick

Devin Neal, RB

Neal joined Kansas in 2021 as a freshman and immediately started producing. In his career, he has had 3,006 rushing yards, 454 receiving yards and 35 total touchdowns. This season, he totaled 1,209 rushing yards, 214 receiving yards and 16 total touchdowns.

At 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds, Neal is well-built for the NFL as a running back. Neal has great college production and has shown he can be a decent receiver out of the backfield. He has eligibility remaining and may go back to school to enhance his draft stock.

Projected Draft Range: 5th Round Pick-7th Round Pick

Other Draft Prospects: S Kenny Logan (5th-7th), CB Cobee Dean (6th-UFA), EDGE Austin Booker (UFA), IOL Mike Novitsky (UFA), CB Damarius McGhee (UFA), OT Logan Brown (UFA), TE Mason Fairchild (UFA)

UNLV Rebels Draft Prospects

Ricky White, WR

White spent two seasons at Michigan State before transferring to UNLV for the last two seasons. In his career, he has 142 receptions for 2,228 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. This season, he has caught 81 passes for 1,386 yards and seven touchdowns.

He is 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, so he’ll need to add more weight to his frame to hold up at the NFL level. White had decent production in 2022, but really broke out this season. White could go back to school next season, as this is a deep wide receiver class.

Projected Draft Range: 6th Round Pick-Undrafted Free Agent

Jackson Woodard, LB

Woodard spent three seasons at Arkansas, but then followed his former defensive coordinator Barry Odom to UNLV. In his career, he has 130 total tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. This season, he has racked up 114 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.

At 6-foot-3 and 230 pounds, Woodard has solid size for an NFL linebacker. He only has one year of production and could go back to school to work on his coverage skills. Woodard could play special teams to improve his chance of making an NFL roster.

Projected Draft Range: Undrafted Free Agent
