Monster Hunting Cheatsheet Gawrilla

Date:

Gawrilla came into the Lords Mobile world back in 2021. And it’s been pummeling braindead players (like you) over and over since then. So, what are you going to do about it? Oh, you want my help? Fine, I guess I can give you a hand, just this once.

In this cheatsheet, I’ll show the ideal lineups to fight back against the Gawrilla (formerly known as the Tusker). And I’m all about equal rights, so I’ll provide pointers for both F2P and P2P players, as well as list all the loot you can get from this damn dirty ape.

How to Attack Gawrilla?

Attacking GawrillaAttacking Gawrilla

This part should be really obvious. I’m shocked that you’re even reading this section. But I guess I have to type something here for the average Lords Mobile noob (read: you). So, here goes: the Gawrilla has huge resistance to physical attacks.

Most of your heroes’ physical hits will do almost nothing to this thing. So, (again, this should be obvious, but I have to say it anyway) magic damage works best.

I recommend using as many magic (intelligence) heroes in your lineups as possible, but you might also need a healer. Gawrilla attacks whichever hero has the highest max HP, but it also deals area-of-effect damage to the whole crew. It can also stun your party and delay your attacks.

All in all, it’s not a lot of fun to fight this thing. But, with my award-winning lineups (listed below), you’ll have the best chance of success.

Gawrilla F2P Lineup

If you’re a free-to-play player of Lords, your Gawrilla lineup should more or less pick itself. Incinerator, Elementalist, and Snow Queen are all obvious picks. They can do massive magic damage to any enemy in your way, including this Planet of the Apes outcast.

But who else makes the cut? Well, here’s my favorite lineup for low-level battles:

Level 1-3 Gawrilla F2P Hero Lineup: Sage of Storms, Incinerator, Elementalist, Snow Queen, Bombin’ Goblin

Look at that lineup. Look at it closely. Burn it into your tiny brain. It’s generally the best offensive magic lineup you can use in this game with F2P heroes. And it’s one that I always come back to. You might have even spotted it already in some of my other cheatsheets.

This mixture of heroes is more than capable of frying the Gawrilla to a crackly crisp. But as it starts getting stronger, you may need to stop simply blasting it and take a more strategic approach. I know that’s not easy for you, so here’s another lineup example:

Level 4-5 Gawrilla F2P Hero Lineup: Child of Light, Incinerator, Elementalist, Snow Queen, Prima Donna

At the top levels, I like to bring in Prima Donna and Child of Light. Prima Donna can heal your troops and keep you rolling, even when the Gawrilla gets mad. Meanwhile, Child of Light has useful barrier and stun abilities, which help to slow the fight down and keep your heroes alive for long enough.

Gawrilla P2P Lineup

If you’re a P2P player, you really have no excuse for not beating the Gawrilla. You’ve got way more INT heroes to choose from, and many of them hit harder than the freebies. Seriously, how can you be having trouble with this?

Level 1-4 Gawrilla P2P Hero Lineup: Twilight Priestess, Storm Fox, Chronicler, Incinerator, Dream Witch

If you use your eyes, you can see that this lineup is very different to the F2P one. It’s got more firepower and a wider range of magic attack potential. The key to the whole thing is Chronicler, as she can reduce the Gawrilla’s magic defense even lower, helping all your other attacks do more damage.

Level 5 Gawrilla P2P Hero Lineup: Twilight Priestess, Storm Fox, Chronicler, Incinerator, Lore Weaver

At level 5, I’m sorry Dream Witch, but you’re just not good enough. Instead, I’m opting for Lore Weaver. She can stun the beast, as well as protecting your heroes from getting hurt, and she even heals everybody else when she dies. Don’t you wish you had as many skills as her? Or even just one skill?

Gawrilla Rewards

Once you’ve put an end to the Gawrilla, you’ll be able to get whatever loot it leaves behind. That’s what you really care about, right? Pretty pixels on the screen to make you feel like you achieved something? In that case, here’s a full list of all the items you can get from Gawrilla:

  • Chest (Common to Legendary, depending on the level)
  • Speed Up (Between 1h and 24h)
  • Shield (8h to 3d)
  • Gems (200 to 1,000)
  • Gold (15k to 600k)
  • Gawrilla’s Rage
  • Brass Ring
  • Mark of Fury
  • Brass Spike

Chests, Gems, Gold, all that stuff is pretty normal, and you get it for beating all the other monsters in Lords. But the unique items (Gawrilla’s Rage, Brass Ring, Mark of Fury, and Brass Spike) can only be obtained from this specific beast.

If you know the basics of Lords, you should be able to figure out what those items are. But, since I know you can’t be trusted to work things out in your head, I’ll tell you anyway: those are materials, and you’ll use them to craft the Gawrilla Set. I’ll talk more about that in the next section, so go there now!

Gears

The Gawrilla Set is an interesting one. Most sets in Lords provide a mixture of benefits to different parts of your army, like the infantry, cavalry, ranged troops, and so on. But the Gawrilla Set is 100% cavalry-oriented. It provides a whole bunch of cavalry boosts, including some of the biggest ATK increases in the game. So, if you want to toughen up your riders, this is the set for you.

Gawrilla GearsGawrilla Gears
  • Rowdy Resolve: Rowdy Resolve kicks off the Gawrilla Set with a 35% cavalry ATK increase, as well as 10.5% more cavalry DEF and 14% bonus HP. This is one of the best accessories in the whole game for leveling up your cavalry. However, like the other items in the set, it won’t help with any of your infantry or other troops.
  • Brass Armor: The Brass Armor has a dull name and an equally boring set of stats. It’s like you in your best outfit: bland and uninspiring. It gives you 12.6% extra cavalry ATK, 15.4% cavalry HP, and 9.8% cavalry DEF. I’m already getting tired of typing the word “cavalry.” The only good thing I can say about this armor is that it’s cheap. But even at such a low price, it’s barely worth the effort.
  • Beastly Waistguard: The Beastly Waistguard offers more cavalry improvements, including 22.4% more ATK, 16.8% HP, and 16.8% DEF. It won’t exactly blow you away, but it’s cheap and offers decent value when you need to take your cavalry game up a notch.
  • Eon Axe: My favorite piece in the set. The Eon Axe is a main-hand weapon that gives you 14% more cavalry HP and DEF. That’s not bad, but the biggest boost is yet to come. This axe also gives you a gigantic 52.5% increase in cavalry ATK. That’s one of the biggest increases in the entire game. Again, it’s no use for infantry and ranged troops, but for cavalry, it doesn’t get much better than this.

Gawrilla Packs

If you’re a no-lifer who plays the game non-stop, you should be able to beat the Gawrilla enough times to get whatever materials you want. But if you’re looking for another option, you could just buy Gawrilla Chests. They’ll give you the same loot, without any of the fighting. Some people would call it cheating. I’d just call it lazy, spineless, and probably not the wisest way to spend your money. But it’s your choice!

Final Thoughts

TL;DR? You should be ashamed! Go back and read the whole damn thing. But if you still need a quick summary, here goes: Gawrilla is super strong against physical attacks, so remember to use magic against this monster if you want any chance of defeating it.

Once you beat it, I recommend saving up to grab the amazing Eon Axe. Some of the other Gawrilla Set items aren’t too shabby, either, like the Rowdy Resolve.

I’d wish you good luck, but I think I’ve already done enough for you today. Just go and beat the Gawrilla. Listen to how it screams with these cool headsets.
