In Content Warning, the Rescue Hook is the new tool added in the new update. Although it’s not exactly what I thought it would be, it’s still a hilarious and helpful tool.

How to get the Rescue Hook in Content Warning

The Rescue Hook is a tool that you can order in from the shop, in the Gadgets section. It costs $250 which is super pricey, but it’s incredibly helpful, so is worth it in my books.

As always, don’t stand in the drop zone when you’ve ordered it. The Rescue Hook is a very situational tool, so only order it when you’re rather familiar with the map so you can get a feel for how useful it would be.

If every you find yourself saying “the Rescue Hook would have been great here,” then you should probably order it the next day.

The Rescue Hook acts like a grapple hook. The range is pretty long and it shoots in a straight line. Upon making contact with a surface, you’ll be unceremoniously launched toward it, slamming into the wall or ceiling you aimed at.

Upon “landing,” you’ll be a ragdoll for a second longer until you get your bearings again. This undercuts the incredible mobility the Rescue Hook gives you to make it more of a balanced tool that you’ll only use when you need it.

It has three uses before it runs out, so make it count! In a full team of four, you won’t all be able to use it to reach a high area, so it’s not a get-out-of-jail-free card for any close encounters.

I will say that although the Rescue Hook sounds amazing, once I was grappled or targeted by an enemy, the Rescue Hook did not help at all. Those moments of ragdoll when in an enclosed space is basically a death sentence, so only use it to reach higher elevations when outside of a structure for best effects.

It is really fun though, and if I used it more strategically rather than just spamming it when that spooky knife-wielding ghost thing was after me, then I may have made it out alive.

Now that you’re equipped with all the knowledge you need to use the Rescue Hook in Content Warning, go out there and get some money.
