How to complete Greased Palms mission in Ready or Not

Date:

Ready or Not players have quickly noticed how unforgiving some missions can be. Around the middle point of the main missions is one at the Los Sueños Postal Service: that’s right, you know the one. Here’s how to complete the Greased Palms mission in Ready or Not!

How to quickly complete the ‘Greased Palms’ mission in Ready or Not

You must complete the following objectives to clear the Greased Palms mission in Ready or Not efficiently:

  • Bring Order to the Chaos (Report and arrest all suspects)
  • Rescue All of the Civilians (Detain civilians)
  • Arrest FISA Agent Adams (Armed)
  • Arrest Maria Lopez (Unarmed)
  • Find Eugene Gomez (Unarmed)
  • Locate the FISA Office
  • Maria
  • Eugene
  • Greased Palms Ready Or Not Agent Adams
  • Greased Palms Ready Or Not Fisa Office

The first two objectives were the usual boilerplate Ready or Not tasks, but the rest were ones I had to heavily observe. Many of the targets in this move around a lot but you can find them in the following areas:

  • You’ll find the FISA Office by following the blood trail from inside the building to a Soft Objective. Beyond this is the brown-walled extension office, just step inside and report at the central bin.
  • Maria Lopez occasionally appears behind the desk at the storefront, or in the back of a truck in the loading bay, or the sorting facility. Maria has dark skin, a white blouse, and blue pants.
  • Eugene Lopez is in the sorting facility, at the far end of the map from where you start, surrounded by hostiles. Eugene has a blue hat, dark skin, a white shirt, and blue pants.
  • Agent Adams has several haunts, and is easy to spot thanks to his ‘just waltzed in from MTV Beach House’ blonde hair and FISA jacket:
    • Inside the FISA Office.
    • Just outside of it.
    • Along the staircase or inside the upstairs office above the sorting facility.
    • Outside the sorting facility near the large cargo trucks.

Individually, none of these are hard. But bringing order to the chaos might give players a mild aneurysm. There are about 16-18 hostiles, often carrying two guns, and their aim and non-ironic wallhax are the stuff of legend.

What are the Soft Objectives at the Los Sueños Postal Service map?

There are two Soft Objectives in Greased Palms:

  • Report the body of the Suspected Shooter (red shirt)
  • Report Weapons Cache
  • Greased Palms Ready Or Not Suspected Shooter
  • Weapon Cache

The Suspected Shooter is found by following the blood trail like how you find the FISA Office. The Weapons Cache is near the large transport trucks, inside a delivery van in a wooden crate on the far end of the left exterior of the map.

Why is the Greased Palms mission so hard?

There’s no easy way around this: I find myself and players agreeing that the Greased Palms Ready or Not mission is broken with its insane AI. The map features a raid on an active shooter situation in an LSPS sorting facility and as it stands, it’s practically impossible without the player or their teammates dying.

However, after hours on the mission, I have some observations and upon finally completing it, I have some life-saving tips for players:

  • Make room for some gas grenades, they work better for large rooms.
  • Use the Optiwand/Mirrorgun religiously
  • Go immediately indoors at your starting point, and secure any civilians.
  • Past the storefront area, hang left through the loading bay area, stop hostiles, and clear the left side of the exterior until you reach the sorting facility. This is a far less stressful approach.
  • Clear the sorting facility, and then the rest of the building from the inside out. From here, the small proxy office on the right exterior side is a cakewalk.
  • The moment you take life-threatening amounts of damage, hang back and have your team clear while you support from the rear.

Take these steps, and you’ll eventually clear this parade of frustration. Shockingly, the next few missions are a break compared to Greased Palms in Ready or Not.

Can you beat Greased Palms with mods?

If you want to slightly cheat, you’d have my blessing in this case, using the No Crack for AI – Just say NO mod. This degrades the enemy AI slightly allowing you to have a fair fight instead of being uncannily sniped the moment you enter their sights. Thankfully, using this mod doesn’t disable achievements, instead just gives a minor slap on the wrist in the score screen by labeling it an ‘unofficial’ score.

How to get S-Rank in Greased Palms

Aside from getting some god-level runs while playing Commander Mode and not dying to the ruthless cover shooter shenanigans, it’s likely best to wait until the AI is patched. Given that non-lethal runs are really the only way to get the S-Rank, you need to subdue all suspects, rescue all civilians, and complete all main and Soft objectives while recovering all guns dropped by the enemy.

Do this, and the game automatically extracts you! After beating this mission, take a break, hug a relative, and honestly, maybe a good cry. I feel like I aged rapidly from the stress of enemies warping in and ruining dozens of runs, but it gets better from here! Unless you’re a psychopath and want to try this on Ironman, in which case, buckle up.
