The Showdown Series promo may be the current event in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, but we’re taking a look ahead to an annual celebration coming soon – FUT Birthday!

Fan favourites with big boosts will come to the game, with the cards a yearly release in recognition of the inception of FUT.

FUT Birthday Release Date

There isn’t any official confirmation yet, but with the Showdown Series currently running and Fantasy FUT leaked to take over from that for two weeks, it looks like FUT Birthday could is set to land on Friday, 17 Match at the usual time of 1pm ET / 6pm GMT.

It initially looked like it would drop a lot sooner, however, this date makes much more sense, as historically it has always come in mid-March to match the original release of FUT on Thursday, 19 March 2009.

We expect the promo to run for two weeks, with Mini-Releases coming for the Team 1 and Team 2 squads.

FUT Birthday

FUT Birthday will be a returning promo, which celebrates the anniversary of FIFA Ultimate Team.

Each year the event sees fan favourite players given enormous boosts, with cards released into packs, via SBCs, and Objectives.

The cards released usually have boosts to skill moves and weak foot as well as the regular attributes, so it offers plenty of new and exciting options.

Last year a Token Swaps system accompanied the event, something that is becoming more and more regular in FUT these days, so we wouldn’t be surprised if another returns this time!

Predictions

Pretty much any player could feature in the FUT Birthday promo, so it’s hard to nail down any sure things.

However, here are some names we would love to see pick up a card:

FUT Birthday Leaks

We haven’t seen any player leaks so far, but as soon as we do they will be added to this section.

What we do have, however, is a leaked card design!

This year we have seen some brilliant creations from the card creators and that continues with FUT Birthday.

It will probably be the last FUT Birthday we see, with EA and FIFA parting ways when FIFA 23 concludes.
