Date:

Wondering how to get rid of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC stutter issue? Here’s the guide you were waiting for.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 has finally arrived, but one challenge lies ahead before you get to embark on your journey as the new Arisen. Like many other AAA titles in recent years, Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes with its own share of graphical glitches and performance issues.

Remember, this is an intense game that requires a powerful PC to run smoothly. However, some gamers are still experiencing annoying stutters while playing, even when they have decent hardware. Thankfully, the game offers the players plenty of options to play around with in the Graphics settings.

This means you can adjust each option until you find the perfect balance to eliminate the stutter and achieve a playable and enjoyable framerate. If you don’t want to fiddle too much with the settings and want to start playing as soon as possible, we’ve got you covered.

In this guide, we’ll highlight the optimized graphical options to get rid of the Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC stutter issue so that you can start exploring the vast world. So, let’s dive in.

Optimal Graphics Settings to Reduce Dragon’s Dogma 2 PC stutter

Dragon's Dogma 2 PC stutter

Dragon’s Dogma 2 isn’t the most optimized game out there, at least not yet. So, targeting a framerate higher than 60 FPS isn’t really a bright idea. What you want is to get a stable 60 FPS experience without any significant dips or stutter.

Of course, as new patches come out, a lot of the performance issues will hopefully get fixed. But for now, these are our recommended settings to get a good performance without sacrificing the visuals too much:

  • Display mode: Full Screen.

Avoid using Borderless Fullscreen as it puts additional strain on your system.

  • Screen Resolution: Depends on Your GPU

If you’re using a beefy GPU like an RTX 4090 Super, you could bump up the resolution to 3840×2160. With a mid-tier GPU, go for 2560×1440. For entry-level cards, 1920×1080 is the only viable option.

  • Refresh Rate: 60hz or Above

Just pick the refresh rate of your Monitor or TV.

  • Vertical Synchronization: Off.

It’s better to force Vsync from your GPU control panel.

  • Dynamic Resolution: On.

This option offers the best visuals without sacrificing any of the performance.

  • FideltyFX Super Resolution 3: Off
  • DLSS Super Resolution: Off
  • DLSS Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: Off
  • Sharpness: Off
  • Rendering mode: Progressive
  • Image Quality: Max

By default, the slider is set to the lowest option. Bump it up to max.

  • Ray Tracing: Off
  • Ambient Occlusion: SDFAO
  • Anti-Aliasing: Off.

If the shimmering effect seems distracting, force AA from your GPU control panel.

  • Screen Space Reflections: On
  • Mesh Quality: Max
  • Texture Filtering: High (Aniso x16)
  • Texture Quality: High 3 GB
  • Grass / Tree Quality: High
  • Resource-Intense Effects Quality: High
  • Shadow Quality: High
  • Shadow Cache: On
  • Contact Shadows: On
  • Motion Blur: Personal Preference
  • Bloom: Personal Preference
  • Depth of Field: On
  • Lens Flare: On
  • Lens Distortion: Off
  • Subspace Scattering: On
  • Motion Quality: High

After adjusting the graphics settings, your game should run a lot smoother. There will still be some minor stuttering, especially when you get to a town with a high population density. But we’re hoping those issues will get addressed by the devs soon.
