Every Dota 2 player wants to know when the new patch becomes available. Valve has changed its strategy a couple of times over the years, and as of today, it releases several smaller updates per year.

2024 kicked off with the Dota 2 Patch 7.35c, which brought a couple of interesting nerfs and buffs that changed the meta (a bit). However, fans are definitely not happy and are eager to see Patch 7.40 in action. So, when is the Dota 2 New Patch Release Date then?

Although we do not know the exact date yet, it seems like the newest Dota 2 patch is just around the corner. DreamLeague Season 22 came to an end a few days ago, which means we expect Valve to start preparing us for the 7.40 Dota 2 patch. The latter should be incredibly exciting because it should give us access to Ringmaster. This is the newest Dota 2 hero that was announced at TI.

Judging from a Reddit user who analyzed Valve’s new Dota 2 patch releases, it became clear that they usually drop on Tuesday morning. On the other hand, some of the latest patches (7.31 and above), usually drop on Wednesdays. In other words, we expect to see the 7.40 Dota 2 patch either Tuesday or Wednesday.

The Dota 2 7.40 Patch – What Can We Expect?

Besides the arrival of Ringmaster, we also expect a few cosmetic items, as well as numerous buffs and nerfs regarding some of the most popular heroes. 

Another leak that became popular online revealed that the Dota 2 7.40 patch might actually give us access to a new Arcana. In fact, we might get two new Arcanas – One for Vengeful Spirit and one for Skywrath Mage.  There might also be a persona for Broodmother, as well as a new immortal item for Hoodwink.
