December ’23 Research, Events, & News
As we head into the holidays and new year, the time to reflect, recharge, and refocus is upon us. For CANeLearn it will also be the time to restructure our national organization as our 12th year approaches. We plan to sharpen our focus on research and need your support, both in-kind and financial, to do so.
What have we accomplished so far?
- We have been an independent, partner and event-funded organization (no sole-source provincial or federal funding) supporting research and operations;
- We have built connections in our network with provincial online programs, government ministries, and corporate partners supporting K-12 online learning;
- We have published independent research (see CANeLearn and State sites); and
- We serve and support our provincial online learning members and partners.
How can you help us to keep going?
- If you are in an online school or program, please ensure the annual State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada program survey has been completed. See more information below.
- Let us know if you have an idea, curiosity, or innovative approach and want to explore it further, learn more about it, or need an independent review.
- Support one of our research initiatives with a financial contribution.
- Join us at one of our partner events (scroll down for upcoming ones) to learn more about CANeLearn research.
From the team at CANeLearn, we wish you the best for the holidays!
K-12 eLearning Program Survey: We Need Your Voice!
We invite you to participate in the annual State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada research study. The study began in 2008 and documents the state of Canadian K-12 e-learning (online, blended and distance education). We need your involvement to assist us with this research to inform and improve e-learning practice.Below you will find ten questions about your program offerings. The information provided will be used to augment information collected from your provincial Ministry of Education and posted on the State website.Please note, for the purposes of this survey e-learning is defined to include all forms of K-12 distance and online education (i.e. correspondence, videoconferencing, and online learning), as well as identified instances of blended learning where at least some portion of education is provided in a face-to-face setting.
Thank you in advance for your consideration, time and input into the State of the Nation research.
