It’s been doing the rounds on PC via Steam for a little while already, ditching a paid premise in favour of free to play goodness just a couple of weeks back. Now Deceit 2 comes to Xbox and PlayStation, as the social deduction ritual looks to hit a new wave of gamer.

Available today as the latest social deduction affair on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 is Deceit 2. Releasing today after a previous stint as a PC exclusive on Steam, it has now been summoned to console, for free, with cross-play support in house. That means you’ll not find a game with more Terrors, Innocent and Cursed ones present… 

From the team at World Makers, Deceit 2 is a matchmade social deduction horror game where two among you have been Infected. While the Infected do the bidding of the malevolent Game Master, the Innocent must work together to escape the Ritual and deduce who is plotting against them. Suspect someone? Rally your team to initiate the Banishing Ritual.

But to make things even more chaotic, you can now also play as a third team in Deceit 2 – the Cursed,  who are solely out for themselves. When it’s time to Banish someone, choose wisely; a false accusation can sow seeds of doubt and turn allies into enemies. Your choices shape the game, making every match a unique battle of wits. Can you outplay the Game Master and escape the Ritual, or will you become another piece in his twisted game?

How will you play?

• THE INNOCENT: SURVIVE AND ESCAPE – Stay alive and outwit the Terrors or meet a grim fate. – Complete tasks around the map to bring you closer to obtaining the escape key. – Investigate suspicious activity and keep an eye on your fellow players’ actions.
• THE INFECTED: DECEIVE AND KILL – Transform and execute other players to whittle down the ranks of the Innocent. – Secretly activate blood altars to unlock stronger powers. – Manipulate and gaslight your enemies to turn on each other.
• THE CURSED: DISRUPT AND CONFUSE – Deceive Infected and Innocents alike and avoid suspicion. – Become a true agent of chaos, and exploit your curse to win the game your way. – Every Curse brings a unique approach to the game.
• MASTER THE RITUAL – Climb the ranks of Ascension to become a master of Deceit. – Unlock new items and Mutations that create unique play styles and strategies. – Expand your wardrobe with epic character and item cosmetics.

All the DLC

The recently launched Werewolf DLC, as well as all available content found in Deceit 2 on PC, is also present in the console versions of Deceit 2 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. And better still, players are able to seamlessly team up with anyone regardless of their platform, all thanks to cross-play support.

The Werewolf DLC includes the Wyrtorn Terror, a werewolf, and the first Terror to be added since the game’s initial launch. It also includes The Chemist role, a neutral Curse that must poison all other members of the group to win the Ritual. The new Project Wurgen map, available to everyone for free, is also here for the console release, and Season One, titled “Humble Beginnings”, kicks off today, bringing a myriad of new skins, loading screens, and more unlockables.

Deceit 2 is open to allow for new social experimentation on Xbox and PlayStation today. Just note, this is a current-gen only game and as such you won’t be able to play on Xbox One or PS4.
