CyberGhost VPN is discounting its CyberGhost Private Browser later this month. The company announced the news earlier this week, giving users two weeks to find themselves a new privacy-friendly browser.

CyberGhost VPN says it’s ending its support for its free Private Browser product effective March 28, 2024 as it intends to concentrate on enhancing its VPN services amidst what it describes as a rapidly changing technology environment and the emergence of new online threats.

“This decision means we can fight even harder for your online privacy and security rights — delivering a premium VPN service that can withstand emerging digital threats,” the VPN announced on its blog. “To all past users of our Private Browser product, we thank you for being early adopters and giving CyberGhost Private Browser a try.”

The discontinuation means that the browser will no longer receive updates, and the installer will be removed from online accounts and app stores.

To export bookmarks from the CyberGhost Private Browser, start by opening the browser, then click the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, navigate to Bookmarks, and choose Bookmark manager. There, click the 3-dot icon next to the search bar and select Export Bookmarks. For exporting passwords, open the browser, click the 3-dot icon in the top-right, proceed to Settings, select Autofill and passwords, and then click Settings again. From here, select Download File, enter your device’s password to authorize the export, and then save the file.
