The first episode of SAND BOX, the inaugural developer diary of ILCA and Bandai Namco’s Sand Land takes a look at the vehicles and enemies of the game.
Samanta is joined by Producer Keishu Minami as they talk about what he believes are the best points of the game: its combat system and vehicles.
In the case of the former, the protagonist Beelzebub can do away with threats like Raptors and bandits by connecting combos with normal attacks. Alternatively, Beelzebub can activate different skills that allow for more powerful abilities. Beelzebub’s skill tree will gradually be unlocked, with the number of skills available will increase.
In the case of the latter, Beelzebub can use tanks, Jump-Bot, and motorcycles, each of which has its own characteristics. For instance, tanks can fire a powerful single shot in battle, while Jump-Bot can climb to high places or use its mobility to go on the defensive. The team will also prepare other vehicles that are in Akira Toriyama’ style.
One is also able to customize the main weapon, subweapon, undercarriage, engine, and more of these different vehicles. Note that parameters are different for each part, with some parts having a different appearance.
