OR Esports to Cease Its Operations in India, Confirms Robin

Date:

OR Esports’ Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) player Robin “Robin” Shekhawat has confirmed the widely circulated rumor that the organization is ceasing its operations in India. This revelation came during a post-match interview at the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: BGMI, where the caster Amrit “Fyxs” Gourav enquired about the rumor.

During a post-match interview, Fyxs informed Robin of the circulating rumor regarding OR Esports potentially shuttering its operations in India. Fyxs then queried if the team wished to make a statement, considering the possibility that this tournament could be their final one under the organization.

Responding to Fyxs’ question, Robin affirmed, “Yes, OR Esports is shutting down its operations in India.” He further expressed the team’s readiness to explore new opportunities, adding that their performance in the tournament would amplify their potential for future endeavors. “The better we play, the more our potential will come into the limelight. So, yes, I don’t have any issue with representing a different org or a different name,” Robin stated.

OR Esports’ Legacy

OR Esports’ closure marks the end of an era for one of the most successful and established esports organizations in the Indian BGMI scene. Since its inception in 2019, OR Esports has been a prominent name in the industry, securing numerous accolades and earning a commendable $237,223 through tournament winnings over the past four years.

Among its notable achievements, OR Esports proudly represented India on the global stage by clinching the runner-up title in the PUBG Mobile World League 2020: East. This remarkable feat not only brought glory to the organization but also elevated India’s presence in the competitive PUBG Mobile community.

However, despite its illustrious history and past victories, OR Esports has faced challenges in maintaining its competitive edge in recent times. While the organization has consistently set high standards for itself, its performance in recent tournaments fell short of expectations.

While the closure of OR Esports marks the end of a chapter, it also paves the way for new opportunities and ventures for its players and staff. It will be interesting to see if any organization signs the entire team or it disbands.
