MTG Fiery Emancipation: Cost, Set, Where to Buy

Date:

Magic spoiler season has begun again, this time for March of the Machine, which has heroic Planeswalkers and their allies repel the invasion of the villainous Phyrexians across the multiverse. New cards are being spoiled daily, allowing players to piece together the set and develop new strategies before its full release – including potential synergies with older cards like 2021’s Fiery Emancipation.

Interest in Fiery Emancipation spiked after the new card City on Fire was spoiled. City on Fire and Fiery Emancipation have very similar effects, tripling the damage of any creature, spell and ability their controller has, Both cards are expensive Enchantments, but City on Fire can be discounted with the Convoke ability.

Together these Enchantments would multiply any source of damage nine times – allowing a measly Shock to do 18 damage for a single Red mana – an unstoppable level of hurt.

Right now Fiery Emancipation is pretty expensive, hovering around $25 according to MTGGoldfish. This is because the card is heavily played in Red Commander decks that focus on dealing damage, making it a desirable card despite being too expensive in other formats.

Fiery Emancipation was first printed in the M21 Core Set and has not since been reprinted. Opening packs of M21 could lead to acquiring a copy cheaply but as a Mythic Rare card this is unlikely.

Interested players can check their local game stores for single copies of Firey Emancipation or order them online on sites like TCGPlayer.

It’s unknown how City on Fire will affect Fiery Emancipation’s price. It could bring it down due to an increased supply of cards that do similar effects, or both cards could remain at similar price points.
