James “Hazed” Cobb first joined the TSM VALORANT roster all the way back in 2020 after the mouseSpaz team was picked up by the famed organisation. Following this, the player would help the squad to multiple victories and podium finishes in a string of events – before hoping over to NRG towards the later part of 2021. After a short stint with NRG, Hazed made his return to TSM in December of 2022 but has not seen any high-tier first-place wins since. Shortly before the Week 3 VALORANT Challengers 2023: North American Split Group Stage begun today, TSM confirmed the departure of Hazed from their roster once more.

In two separate posts made via the team’s Twitter account, TSM waved goodbye to Hazed with the player talking about his departure – and then later confirmed the addition of Eric “Kanpeki” Xu to the squad. In his message, Hazed stated that:

… outside the game we were perfectly fine, it’s just that in the game we didn’t vibe that well and I kind of felt I was the odd man out, but that’s not their fault.”

He continued on to reveal his feelings on stepping back from the team, adding that it was his own decision and that there were no hard feelings to anyone within the organisation.

In his place, TSM have picked up a player who has seen a wide array of victories in C-tier tournaments, before he made the leap into Sentinels last year. Kanpeki will now look to bolster the TSM squad through the remainder of the VALORANT Challengers 2023: NA Split Group Stage, with the team already taking the win in their Week 3 series. With two weeks remaining, TSM and Kanpeki combined will be hoping to make enough of an impact to stay within the top four and possibly reach the VALORANT Challengers Mid-Season Invitational 2023.
