Kaleido Intelligence’s latest study recognises Eseye and Vodafone as leaders in IoT connectivity.

The study, Connectivity Vendor Hub: Competitive Analysis 2023, evaluated 39 service providers—emphasising their roles in Connectivity Management Platforms (CMP), eSIM Connectivity, and eSIM Subscription Management within the IoT ecosystem.

Eseye and Vodafone emerged as ‘Champion’ vendors in eSIM Connectivity and CMP, respectively.

Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone Business IoT, said: “As more and more customers adopt and rely on IoT, platform performance and capability become paramount. I am therefore delighted that Kaleido have recognised our connectivity management platform GDSP, as the number one Champion in their eSIM & CMP Vendor Hub assessment 2023.

“By developing and owning our platform we can respond rapidly to changing customer and market demands to ensure that our customers are always at the forefront of IoT.”

Nick Earle, CEO of Eseye, commented: “We are delighted that for the third straight year we’ve been recognised as a Kaleido Champion, and this year as the number one assessed firm, confirming our position as the undeniable market leader in eSIM connectivity solutions.”

“Our advanced multi-IMSI and eUICC capabilities, multi-award-winning IoT connectivity management platform, and AnyNet Federation, set us apart from the other 25 vendors, allowing us to deliver best-in-class, near 100% global connectivity so that enterprises can confidently deploy IoT at scale.”

G+D and Thales emerged as joint leaders in eSIM Subscription Management, highlighting the continuous advancements in IoT connectivity solutions.

The four-month-long research journey incorporated a blend of primary and secondary research methodologies, including product demos, questionnaires, interviews, and briefings.

Kaleido’s evaluation method categorises vendors based on product excellence, market positioning, problem-solving capabilities, innovation, and alignment with current and future IoT market needs.

Out of the 39 vendors assessed, 12 achieved ‘Champion’ status with Kaleido Scores of 12 and above, while 22 were recognised as ‘High-Flyers,’ scoring between 10 and 12.

The research also highlighted the existing challenges in the IoT connectivity landscape, underscoring the need for industry leaders to provide solutions that facilitate the scaling of operations.

Steffen Sorrell, Chief of Research at Kaleido Intelligence, said: “Connectivity is the bedrock of IoT but it remains fragmented with a series of roadblocks in place that often lead to project failure.

“Leaders in the market are lowering those roadblocks, be it through their underlying infrastructure and software, connectivity agreements or seamless management across different realms of connectivity enablement.”
