The Flocabulary content team creates The Week in Rap each week. The majority of the process takes place on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

  • Tuesday: The team selects 4-8 stories to cover, researches and summarizes those stories, and sends them to a rapper to write The Week in Rap and Week in Rap Junior. Lyrics are then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited before the song is recorded on Tuesday afternoon.
  • Wednesday: Our audio team finalizes the song and hands it off to the video team to find and edit together footage related to each story.
  • Thursday: The video team shares a first draft of the video for review on Thursday morning. All necessary edits are then incorporated into the video and a new draft is shared for final review. Once final edits have been made, our operations team publishes The Week in Rap and Week in Rap Junior on the site Thursday evening.

  • Auto-Rostered Clever/Classlink Classes are set up on the district level via Clever/Classlink, data is shared with us in Clever/Classlink, and then a nightly sync updates rosters in Flocabulary based on this shared data.
