Latest news – Crossplay ‘confirmed’
EA has revealed little to nothing about the upcoming FIFA 23 which is expected to launch around Friday, 30 September 2022 based on the release schedule of last year’s game.
A new report from Xfire, however, may have just revealed a massive new feature coming to the series in FIFA 23, Crossplay!
Crossplay would reportedly unite FIFA 23 players across all platforms from Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia.

Will there be a FIFA 23 Demo?

EA has not yet confirmed whether we’ll be getting a FIFA 23 Demo this year, but we can have a pretty good guess by judging off of what was released for FIFA 22.
There was no free FIFA 22 Demo to download on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X, or PC.

Instead, EA provided fans with 10-hour and 20-hour trials, courtesy of their EA Play app.
We expect the same to be the case for FIFA 23, which means you will be able to access the full game for both time limits, but you will also need to pay a small fee to enjoy it.
Release Date
With the next game such a long way off we won’t see an official release date for many months, but we always have a rough idea of when the game will arrive.
FIFA 22 was fully launched on Friday, 1 October 2021, so if EA follows the same trend, then Friday, 30 September 2022 could be our release date for FIFA 23.

This would mean early access for pre-orders from Tuesday, 27 September for those who buy the Ultimate Edition of the game.
The 10-hour EA Play trial usually offers players a limited number of hours of gaming too and goes live even earlier than pre-orders so expect to see that around a week before the full launch.
With all that in mind, here are some of the key (predicted) dates for your diaries.
Predicted FIFA 23 Key Dates:
- Thursday, August 11 – FIFA 23 Closed Beta
- Wednesday, 21 September – EA Play Trial (10 hours) & FUT Web App Launch
- Thursday, 22 September – FUT Mobile Companion App Launch
- Tuesday, 27 September – Early Access (Ultimate Edition Pre-Orders)

- Friday, 30 September – Full Launch
- Monday, 21 November – 2022 World Cup kick-off
Game Modes
As stated previously, the EA Play 10-hour / 20-hour early access trial will grant you access to the full version of FIFA 23.
This means you will be able to kickstart your Ultimate Team early by trading and building a squad that is above the average level by the time the game is officially released.
You’ll also be granted access to Career Mode, Volta Football and basic Quickplay modes such as Kick-Off.
