CS: GO: Useful Tips For Dust 2 To Help Your Game

Date:

We take you through some handy tips to help you dominate on Dust 2.

CS: GO is a game where we have access to loads of different maps. Not all of them are popular among competitive players, but people who play this game for fun will have the chance to avail themselves of loads of options.

Speaking of maps, the most iconic one is Dust 2, a map that has been a part of the Counter-Strike universe for many years. This is the most popular map in the world because even people who haven’t played the game yet can recognize it. Needless to say, this is also one of the popular maps for competitive play.

Due to the fact that this map is trendy, you will likely have to play it every day if you decide to start your quest for the “Global Elite”. People with more CS:GO experience probably know a thing or two about the game, but others will want to learn more about the game. With that being said, here are a few tips and tricks that will definitely help you become better when you have to play on Dust 2.

Callouts

While it is true that most people with more CS:GO experience know some information about the specific callouts, there are some exceptions. That’s why the first thing you have to do before you start playing Dust 2 competitively is to learn the important callouts.

Everyone knows about the CT and T spawn, but this doesn’t mean there aren’t loads of other things. For example, you should be aware of things like Upper and Lower tens, xbox, mid, top mid, long, double doors, side put, goose, cat, and more.

Learning all those things will take time, especially if English is not your first language. However, once you start playing regularly, you should get used to them fairly quickly.  You have to be aware of loads of other callouts, so make sure to search for more information before you start playing.

Learn where to use Smoke

One of the many things that differentiate professional CS: GO players from those who play for fun is using the way they use Smoke. Many people don’t realize the power of this item, but a well-placed smoke can make a huge difference, especially if you are playing as a Terrorist.

Dust 2 is one of the maps where you can do all sorts of things with Smoke. With that being said, not everyone is familiar with the places where this item is most effective. For example, one of the interesting smokes that you can use as a Terrorist is standing behind the car and throwing it over the palm tree. If you do that correctly, the smoke will land just where the CTs usually wait for you to show up. In other words, you should be able to peak without worrying that an AWP will kill you.

Holding the bomb sides

While it is true that some people prefer playing on the Terrorist side, they will eventually have to switch and play as CT. This is when it gets exciting because playing as a CT on Dust 2 requires you to be aware of all sorts of things.

Besides deciding which weapons to go for, it is imperative to learn more about how to defend the two bomb sides. The first one we will take a look at is “B” (the bomb located on the right side of CT spawn). There are loads of different angles you can cover, and your position should depend on the weapon you’re using. For example, you can go to the back plaid with an AWP because this will allow you to have a clear shot when someone shows up. However, someone can kill you if he gets to the doors, which is why you should ask someone from your team to watch your back. The same applies if you position yourself close to the big box. In fact, many people prefer this place because they have more room to move when needed.

Although some people prefer defending the B bomb, A is definitely more complicated because you can get attacked from multiple locations. That’s why you need a bit more experience before you are ready to go there.

It is important to point out that having an AWP can be beneficial, especially if you position yourself to allow you to keep an eye on long. Defending long can be easier said than done, which is why most CT teams usually send at least two players there.  As for cat, your team should have at least one person there, especially if the opponents used a smoke for the xbox.

Planting the bomb

After we’ve covered some of the essential things related to defending the bomb sides, it is time to check how to plant the bomb. This is really important for everyone on the T side because it can make a huge difference.

Another thing to remember is that you need to communicate with your teammates when it comes down to where you plant the bomb. If you decide to go to the A-side, you can play safe and hide behind the box. This will allow you to plant the bomb, but defending it won’t be easy. That’s the reason why many people plant the bomb for long, which means that someone from the T side has to go there (usually with an AWP) to defend it.

When it comes down to plating the bomb on the “B” side, you can do that wherever you want to. Some people do that behind the boxes, whereas others prefer to do it in front of them. The latter is usually a better option because it lets you kill the CT a lot easier.

In some cases, you can also plant under the window, especially if the CTs are trying to take over the bomb. This will allow you to plant it, which will help your team get extra cash.

The different boosts and jumps

Before we point out some of the things you have to be aware of regarding boosts, it is essential to know that Dust 2 is not one of the maps where you can do a lot of boosts. One of the most popular ones is the small metal thingy that is available on the xbox. Thanks to it, you can jump and go to the catwalk even if you are mid.

One of the boosts that everyone from the CT side should be aware of is right next to the spawn place. It allows you to boost your teammate to cat in a matter of seconds, as long as you jump on the box located nearby.
