Washington Justice Announce AlphaYi and Flora as 2023 DPS Line

Date:

The Washington Justice are shaping up to be one of the most fascinating teams in the league in 2023. After 2022 the Justice dropped the entirety of their roster, coaching staff included, in search for a new direction. They started with signing a new head coach in Zouheir “GetAmazed” Baba and allowing him to dictate roster construction. With just a month until the first Overwatch League tournament, the Justice are ready to reveal their roster. On Saturday March 4, the Justice began their roster reveal by introducing Lim “Flora” Young-woo and Kim “AlphaYi” Jun as the newest DPS line.

AlphaYi spent last season with the Hangzhou Spark, propelling the team to a fourth place finish in the Grand Finals bracket. As a rookie in 2022, AlphaYi split the majority of the play time with Zheng “Shy” Yangjie to create one of the most impressive damage duos in the league. AlphaYi is a flex DPS that isn’t afraid to play a little bit of everything. In an ever-changing game like Overwatch 2, this skillset should be a massive boon for the Justice in the long haul.

Alongside AlphaYi is former New York Excelsior hit-scan, and team captain, Flora. Flora joined the NYXL back in 2021 and found moderate amounts of success as the team’s hit-scan player. While New York struggled as a whole that season, Flora stood out as a player that could potentially grow into a great DPS asset. In 2022 things took a turn for the worse with the Excelsior. Despite having an “improved” roster, the Excelsior found themselves locked in the bottom of the standings. Flora continued to show some promise, but couldn’t do enough to help NYXL win more than four games. The Washington Justice serves as a fresh start for Flora, and 2023 could be the year he makes that leap from good to great.
