Despite Virtus.pro not participating in a lot of tier one events in CS2 thus far, they seem to be one of the best teams in the world at the moment.

With a dominant win against BIG in Group D’s opener and an impressive victory over the AWPer-less Cloud9, VP found themselves in a prime position to book themselves a spot at the BLAST Spring Final in London later this year.

The Russians’ play style is uncomfortable to play against for the majority of top teams, which makes them a championship contender at every tournament they attend. With that in mind, they are one of the dark horses for the IEM Katowice and Major trophies.

BIG

Although BIG got off to an awful start in Copenhagen, getting demolished by Virtus.pro in their maiden game, they managed to run the gauntlet in the lower bracket and advance into the Group D final.

A victory in this matchup would mean a lot for the Germans, as it would qualify them for one of the biggest CS2 events in the first half of the year. It’s especially important due to their recent failure in the Open Qualifier to the European RMR.

Without attending the Major, it is crucial for BIG to attend as many big events, as they possibly can to remain competitive and stay relevant within the tier one space.
