To commemorate VeeCon 2023, we are excited to reveal the artwork of VeeCon 2023 Tickets — featuring the music and video “I Need Friends” — created by artist, musician, and Web3 founder — Ed Balloon.

Artist, Musician, and Web3 Founder — Ed Balloon

Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Ed quickly fell in love with music at the age of 9, but did not pursue it as a passion and career until after college in 2014, where he then moved to LA to go all in to pursue music. Once COVID hit in 2020, everything was put on pause. Live shows were canceled, creating uncertainty of what the future would hold for Ed.

Fast forward to 2021, Ed was introduced to the Web3 space and was immersed in the opportunities and connections available to artists to showcase their artwork. Ed found a place where he could also help other artists find their voice, encourage them to create freely and give them additional visibility.

Ed created (2) NFT releases that highlight who he is as an artist and creative but that also expand his reach and audiences across different mediums

The Run Ed Collection:

A generative sound and motion picture project that caught GaryVee’s attention as a collector, and featured Ed B “The Puppet” blends stop 2D/3D animation visuals with music and sound. With half of the sale proceeds towards funding production for Ed B “The Puppet” show, and the other half invested toward The Ed Balloon Generational Wealth Fund to collect work from Black, and other underrepresented, web3 artists.

Beauty Supply Is Out Of Du-Rags:

Showcasing an immersive, personal experience through his art, this collection is more than art — it’s human. Truly embodying history, culture, individuality, and beauty, Beauty Supply Is Out Of Du-Rags intertwines a feeling captured for self-reflection in the universal language of art.

In much of his artwork, audiences will familiarize themselves with Ed B “The Puppet”, a manifestation of Ed Balloon, encompassing his art, music, and more importantly the authentic immersion of Ed’s creativity coming to life.

VeeCon 2023 Ticket Art Reveals “I Need Friends” by Ed Balloon

The official art of VeeCon 2023 Tickets features the music video short “I Need Friends” by Ed Balloon. Through his personal experience of VeeCon 2023, Ed was amazed by the feeling of “comfort”, and felt VeeCon was a space for true connection with others while being 100% authentically yourself.

Inspired and rejuvenated by the energy of VeeCon attendees, it was only fitting that the art reveal showcases signature character Ed B “The Puppet” reciting “I need friends” beyond the view of clouds. We are reminded through artistic expression of melody and dance that we must first be our own friend and truly love ourselves for who we are, before we can provide our friendship and love to others.

There are 10 variations of the art reveal, as equally distributed as possible throughout all VeeCon 2023 Tickets that feature a combination of different visuals of black & white, or color, including borders of either black, white, or three different static elements.

The ticket is now the “frame” for the artwork and serves as a commemorative digital collectible for the energy felt through VeeCon 2023. We hope this feeling is now encapsulated in the VeeCon 2023 ticket for years to come and reminds us that it’s through these connections that strangers become acquaintances, acquaintances become friends, and friends become family.
