Top 10 Jobs Most Impacted and Replaced by AI – Tech Startups

Date:

In a sign of the growing influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in the corporate landscape, Europe’s leading fintech giant Klarna made headlines last month after it announced that it replaced 700 customer service representatives with AI. According to the company, its AI assistant now handles tasks equivalent to those previously undertaken by the 700 employees who were let go. This workforce reduction underscores the accelerating adoption of automation and AI-driven solutions in modern businesses.

However, the impact of AI on job displacement extends beyond traditional blue-collar roles. A recent report by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sounded the alarm, predicting that AI will affect as much as 60% of jobs in advanced economies. This warning highlights the far-reaching implications of AI technology on various sectors of the workforce, emphasizing the urgent need for proactive measures to address the evolving nature of employment in the age of automation.

The IMF isn’t the only one sounding the alarm on AI job displacement. In collaboration with Accenture, the World Economic Forum also dropped another report delving into the looming impact of large language models (LLMs) on employment. The report digs deep into the integration of LLMs across different sectors, shedding light on a seismic shift in how we engage with information and, consequently, how we earn our keep.

“In the latest white paper of the Jobs of Tomorrow series, [we] present an examination of the potential impact of large language models (LLMs) on jobs. The integration of LLMs in various industries presents a paradigm shift in how we interact with information and, by extension, how we work,” WEF wrote.
