Is there an Apple store versio of a kief scrapper?  When Cannabis.net saw the Keefer Scraper we just had to sit down with the founders and find out how how they created an “Apple store” scraper that looks great and works so much better than the cheap plastic ones you get with with a grinder. What is Keefer Scraper?

Keefer Scraper creates high-end stoner tools and accessories. Our premier product, called the Keefer Scraper, is a kief scraper tool. Unlike the cheap, plastic scrapers you usually get when you buy a new grinder, the Keefer Scraper is made of premium stainless steel. It has an ergonomic design that allows you to easily handle your kief.

One side is equipped with a scraper that can also be used as a tamp tool and poker. The other side is equipped with a dry herb scoop shovel, for loading and collecting purposes. As someone once said, it’s like a kief scraper on steroids! It’s available in two sizes. We also make a stainless steel dab tool, perfect for all kinds of extracts.

How did you first come up with the idea?

I suppose you could say I like smoking kief! I felt that the plastic kief scrapers that come with your grinder weren’t efficient enough to get the job done. I always had kief left behind that I couldn’t get out of the nooks and crannies, and kief is too good to waste! Not only just that, they were small and not very durable. I wanted to create a better version that was like a stoner multi-tool. Then, it only made sense to make a premium dabber tool for all the dab fans.

What did your friends and family think when you told them your idea and that you would be in the cannabis industry?

Funny thing is, most of my family still doesn’t know. Only my wife and a couple of my uncles. All of my friends know about my venture and totally support it. The cannabis industry is thriving and will only continue to grow. I’m glad that I can make products to contribute to its continued acceptance. 

What is one mistake you made that you wish you could do over with Keefer Scraper?

I believe everything that we’ve done with Keefer Scraper has been a success so far. The product and the Keefer brand have had a natural, organic growth that I believe will continue to rise. I suppose my only regret is not starting sooner!

What advice would you give someone who is thinking of getting into the cannabis space today?

I would tell them to network, network, network. The bigger you grow your network the better. Building relationships in this industry is key. And to do your research. If you are making products, know your audience and focus on finding a solution to their problem. Use high-quality materials and ingredients wherever possible so you can feel good about what you put into the market. Above all – have fun! It’s a wonderful thing that we have seen cannabis come so far in the last decade, we’re in for a hell of a ride over the next 10 years and beyond.

What plans do you have for the company in 2022 and 2023?

We want to put more focus in brand awareness. We’re still fairly new in the industry, so growing the popularity of our products is top on the list.  I’d like to see Keefer Scraper become synonymous with dab tools and kief scrapers, and perhaps we’ll even expand our product line to include other stoner accessories.

When do you think we will see Federal cannabis legalization?

When the powers that be get out of their own way. Eighteen states have already adopted a recreational cannabis program, and statistics are already showing promising results. Excellent use of tax dollars being spent on schools and maintaining city parks, a reduced overdose of prescription drugs. There are no downsides. It’s only a matter of time. Plus Amazon endorses the bill to make it happen, so let’s wait and see.

What is your favorite type of cannabis and kief of course…?

My personal favorite strain is banana kush. As far as kief, I like mine to come from OG Kush preferably.

What are some cool things people could make or do with kief that you guys know about and most people don’t?

There are so many uses but I can name a few. You can use kief to make moonrocks, sprinkle it on a joint or add it to a bowl, press it into hash.  What people may not know, is that you can also add it to your coffee or tea or use it to make edibles. Google what to do with kief and you’ll turn up a lot of really cool ideas! It’s a super versatile form of cannabis and it’s basically the purest way to consume a concentrated form of cannabis. It doesn’t require heat, pressure, or solvents of any kind. It’s just a collection of cannabis’ most potent trichomes.
