EEU slayers, Talon Esports turned their sight onto WEU and took down Entity to secure a top 4 finish at the Lima Major.

Southeast Asia dreams are carried further by the only team from the region left to fight for the title in Peru. So far in the playoffs, Talon Esports had to deal only with Eastern and Western Europe teams. They’ve sent packing both HellRaisers and Team Spirit and now they are also responsible for the first WEU team’s elimination from the Major. 

Through their 20+ matches played so far at the Major, both Talon and Entity distinguished themselves for their predilection to play for the late game plan, most of their victories coming past the 40-minute mark. With that in mind, Entity looked to change the pace in the first game against the SEA representative and went for a Pudge – Invoker – Disruptor line-up that was supposed to snowball from the laning stage. They executed the early game to perfection and got five kills in the first 10 minutes on Talon’s offlane Razor. But the early aggression was suddenly stopped once Talon were ready to fight with triple BKBs on their side. The right click damage was clearly lacking on the Entity side, and without any chance of getting an Aghanim’s Scepter on their disruptor, they stood no chance past the 20-minute mark.

In the second game Entity looked to shut down  Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman’s Zeus with a mid lane Tusk and a position 4 Skywrath Mage, but the combo never achieved critical mass and the WEU team got rolled over in a pretty one-sided victory from Talon Esports.

While Entity heads home with a top 6 finish, $25,000, and 200 Dota Pro Circuit points for their effort, Talon will return to the Arena 1 stage later today to play against Shopify Rebellion for a spot in the lower bracket finals.
