Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. are trying to contain Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League leaks, including major story spoilers and unannounced playable characters, as details on next year’s game spread across the internet. The leak, some of which appears to have come from an alpha test of the game, is upsetting not only its developer and publisher, but fans of Rocksteady’s Batman games as well. Some story spoilers, while unconfirmed, could have major implications for Rocksteady’s “Arkham-verse.”
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League details have been leaking for the past few weeks, as dataminers pored through game files available through a “closed alpha tech test” that ran from Nov. 30 through Dec. 3. That technical test consisted of a “smaller, specific section” of the game’s campaign and its players were bound by a restrictive non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Regardless, unannounced details from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have gone public, much to the displeasure of its developer. On Monday, Rocksteady called the leaks “very disappointing” and warned players that potential spoilers were in the wild.
“We’re looking forward to players experiencing the story we’ve crafted in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League once the game launches in the new year,” Rocksteady said in a statement posted to its official X account. “We hope everyone can play the game and feel each moment of the narrative for themselves. It is very disappointing to see details being share ahead of the game’s release, so we can only urge you to try to avoid spoilers where you can. And please try not to impact the enjoyment of other players by posting spoilers. We look forward to seeing you all in Metropolis on 02-02-24.”

Plot details, including certain DC universe characters making surprise appearances and certain characters dying, have been leaked through audio and game clips (which Warner Bros. has done its best to scrub from the internet using copyright claims). That includes the possible return of Batman villain Poison Ivy, who died in Batman: Arkham Knight, but returns in Kill the Justice League in a very different form. Other leaked and unconfirmed story details include revealing the Suicide Squad’s methods for killing certain members of the Brainiac-controlled Justice League and using the DC multiverse as a plot device.
One leaked aspect of the game’s story involves the killing of Batman — which shouldn’t be much of a surprise in a game titled Kill the Justice League, which features a menacing version of the caped crusader, as shown in previous game trailers. Some Batman fans are expressing shock and disappointment at how Rocksteady is handling the character, however, particularly with it being the final turn for the late Kevin Conroy.
But as fans of the Batman Arkham series should know by now, shocking plot twists in Rocksteady’s games aren’t always what they seem.
Beyond story spoilers, a dataminer on X says he’s uncovered additional game modes for Kill the Justice League, including a horde mode called Raising Hell and a 4v4v4v4 PvPvE mode described as “a distant cousin of Destiny 2’s Gambit.”
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will also get playable characters beyond the core roster of Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and King Shark, according to leaked details. Players will allegedly be able to play as The Joker, Deathstroke, and other unannounced DC characters.
Warner Bros. and Rocksteady plan to release Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League on Feb. 2, 2024, after a series of delays. The game is bound for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X.
