‘Location, location, location’ is a common phrase used in real estate – but it has arguably never been more important than for a holiday home.

Overlooking a picturesque golf course and within 1km of the beach, this Port Hughes property nails its location.

As a result, the four-bedroom residence at 5 St Andrews Drive offers a relaxing place to unwind and soak up the benefits of the coast.

Owners Lyn and Jon Trenwith built the property in 2014 after designing it themselves.

Ms Trenwith had had a lot of experience with property development at the time having been a project manager working with builders to construct investment homes.

“My experience with them was I would work with the builder and I’d also find the land for them,” she said.

“It became a real passion of mine.

“This one was a lot more personal though.

“The most important thing for us was to capture the view and make sure there was plenty of privacy.”

The contemporary home is on a 681sq m block and has four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

An open kitchen, living and meals area that flows seamlessly through glass doors onto an outdoor entertainment area overlooking The Dunes golf course is the heart of the home.

Standout features outside include an in-built fire pit, space for a large barbecue with a roller shutter for secure storage and five electric blinds that offer privacy around the alfresco area.

Other highlights of the home include an large walk-in pantry in the kitchen, a home theatre and a double garage.

Ms Trenwith said the property had served as the perfect holiday home for the whole family to gather at over the years, including grandchildren.

“It’s definitely worked out as a great entertainment space, it’s been wonderful for entertaining,” she said.

The best part is, Ms Trenwith said more homes won’t ever be built on the property’s southern side where the alfresco area is so it will always be a private space.

While the Trenwiths love the property, they are selling it because they don’t get to use it as often as they used to.

It is being sold via an expressions of interest campaign.
