Oh look, it’s another gorgeous Zelda Ocarina of Time Unreal demo

Date:

Yeah, I’d play it

Here we are with another Ocarina of Time Unreal demo, and it’s still just as impressive as the last time we all looked at one and judged it collectively.

This iteration comes from RwanLink, who recreated Lake Hylia from Ocarina of Time.  As the creator puts it, “this lake is beautiful and full of mysteries so I wanted to recreate this feel by imagining how it could look like with the visual of a film.” They even had a theme song crafted for Lake Hylia for the purpose of the video. Oh, and it’s voiced, too (well, Navi is)!

The intro is several minutes long, but the real opening on the area starts roughly here, and the pan out is a sight to behold. The theme also really comes together and makes the entire thing, which is presented in 4K60 using Unreal Engine 5.

I’m not ashamed to admit that while “Unreal Zelda” is something that happens on a weekly basis, I’m a sucker for it. Nintendo already did a lot of the groundwork creating these incredible locales, and folks have paid homage to them for decades: this is no different.

I actually really like the visual style of Breath of the Wild, and many Zelda games in the past, but it would be incredible to see just one done in this style with the latest tech. No, not everyone is going to like it! But some people might.
