Major League Baseball is about to start and teams have prepared their pitching rotations. Here is the New York Yankees 2024 projected pitching rotation.
1. Nestor Cortes LHP
Cortes, 29, only started 12 games in 2023 due to injury. He’ll be looking to refind his form from 2022 when he was an All-Star with a 2.44 ERA and a 12-4 record.
2. Carlos Rodon LHP
The 31-year-old lefty is trying to rebound from a season where he posted a 6.85 ERA in 14 starts. In the two seasons prior to 2023, he had the best seasons of his career and made the All-Star Game.
3. Marcus Stroman RHP
Although he has played for a couple of teams over the last several years, Stroman has been able to have an ERA below 4.00 in each season since 2019. He had 119 strikeouts last season.
4. Clarke Schmidt RHP
Schmidt has had some struggles in the first few seasons of his career. Last season, he went 9-9 with an ERA of 4.64.
5. Will Warren RHP
The former Southeastern Louisiana Lion pitched in AA and AAA last season with a 2.45 and 3.61 ERA respectively. He has been battling for the last rotation spot this spring.
Notes: Gerrit Cole (RHP) will miss at least a month with a right elbow injury. Luis Gil (RHP) is battling for the last rotation spot as well.
