According to its website, the hackathon is open to developers aiming to construct projects in web3 while utilizing the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). The top three contenders will win a pool prize of ₱225,000.

Moreover, the organizers noted that participants have the opportunity to be incubated by ISLA Camp which will facilitate their introduction to the blockchain and web3 spaces. In addition, to further incentivize involvement, participants also have potential access to funding through grants.

“Be recognized globally and open up your ideas to a larger audience specifically Top venture capitalists (VCs), known founders of the web3 ecosystem, and top project builders,” the website noted.

In a recent webcast, Eliezer Rbadon, the tech lead of ICT Hub Philippines and also the CEO and co-founder of DvCode Technologies Incorporated, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event and encouraged web3 developers to join.

“Para sa mga Pinoy na builders na talagang gumagaw ng mga projects, mga web3 developers, IT solutions companies, mga startups, na naghahanap ng possible way of funding, we are actually starting a hackathon… It’s very big and sana ma-anticipate natin. It’s nationwide and online, open to all Filipinos.”]

He also told interested applicants to visit their Facebook page and X account to get more updates.

How to Join?

To be eligible, applicants must not have received grants from the DFINITY Foundation or other blockchain foundations in the preceding six months, and they should not have secured funding or investment for their intended project.

At the culmination of the hackathon, participants must submit various materials, which may be subject to change based on progress. These include project descriptions or pitch decks, project logos, deployment to the Mainnet, an open-source project repository (typically on Github), a Canister ID, a README file (example here), and a five-minute video. The video should offer an overview of the project and its features, as well as a demonstration of its functionality.

Throughout the hackathon, participants are encouraged to attend five workshops aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge in blockchain, smart contracts, and the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP). These workshops are conducted entirely online, free of charge, and are open to anyone interested in the field.
