There are many wondrous secrets to be discovered in Nightingale, and the Bastille of Intellect is one of them. A curious structure with something interesting gleaming behind the gates – here’s how to crack the puzzle.
The Bastille of Intellect puzzle in Nightingale
The Bastille of Intellect in Nightingale is a structure with Puzzle Pieces outside of it. Trapped behind the gates is a treasure for only those who pay attention. These structures will be marked on your map with a puzzle piece, and will remain running until you complete them and claim the rewards.
Three blue pyramid structures will blaze blue next to a very strange structure afront the gates. To solve this puzzle, you need to activate the Blue Puzzle Pieces in a certain order.
When approaching this structure – be careful! In two of the Bastille of Intellects, I was assaulted by enemies. They’re simple enough to dispatch, but they’re a threat nonetheless. They may also be summoned should you fail the puzzle, so try not to do that.
If you observe the blue prisms alongside the bastille, you may notice that they occasionally shimmer with blue glyphs. This is not random – they’re actually indicating the order of which they should be activated. Watch them for a time until all of them emit glyphs.
Then, with the order in mind, activate them one by one. A blue beam will connect that Puzzle Piece to the Puzzle Core in the middle. When all three connect to the Puzzle Core, then you would have successfully completed the puzzle and can reap the rewards.

Rewards of the Bastille of Intellect in Nightingale
Should you outsmart the Bastille of Intellect in Nightingale, then you’ll get to claim two rewards.
In the Puzzle Core should now stand a Hope Echo, which can award you with numerous prizes, such as a crafting recipe. I personally received a Simple Maul from one of the ones I solves. Make sure to always claim this – it’ll save you from having to buy it from a Merchant.
Most importantly, you will be able to claim a Favor from inside the Bastille of Intellect itself. These Favors provide temporary buffs to your character, so it may be worth holding off on claiming them if you have a specific use you wish to save them for!
