How to Get Sunspot Skin for Free in Fortnite

Date:

Fans can now get the Sunspot skin for free in Fortnite as long as they have the Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass.

The Fortnite Item Shop in the past month has been rather disappointing. There have been no new, original skins in the Item Shop in what feels like forever; instead, Epic Games keeps bringing back iconic, fan-favorite skins from past seasons. Although the rerelease of John Wick garnered huge hype, the rest of the returning collaborations have left fans hungry for a brand new skin, unique to Fortnite.

Fortunately, just one week into the new year, Epic Games answered the community’s request and delivered the Sunspot skin. Here’s a breakdown of how to get the new skin in Fortnite at no extra cost.

To get the Sunspot skin for free in Fortnite, players must first complete the Chapter 5 Season 1 Battle Pass. Those who unlock all 14 pages and then at least the first two Bonus Rewards pages will receive a minimum of 1,200 free V-Bucks. Then, simply head over to the Item Shop and purchase the Sunspot skin at no extra cost.

Players can find the Sunspot skin in the “Original Spotlight” tab of the Item Shop. The new skin comes with two styles, one for the summertime and one for the winter, along with matching LEGO styles. Plus, the Sunspot skin includes the Nova Snackpack Back Bling.

The Fortnite Sunspot skin costs 1,200 V-Bucks. As previously mentioned, those who complete the current Battle Pass will not have to purchase any additional V-Bucks to acquire the skin.

There is also a matching Stellar Striker Pickaxe, featuring both summer and winter styles as well, that can be purchased separately for 800 V-Bucks.

As of now, it is unclear when the Sunspot skin will be leaving the Item Shop, so fans should purchase the skin as soon as possible. With daily Item Shop rotations, there is no telling when Epic Games could remove the skin from the game.
