FFXIV Xbox’s Release Might be Sooner Than You Think

Final Fantasy XIV is coming to Xbox in the Spring of 2024. During the 6.5x patch cycle, there will also be an Open Beta earlier for players to experience the now extended Free Trial Early.

The Xbox version of Final Fantasy XIV will only be available on Xbox Series X|S through digital means. However, there will be no limitations when it comes to experiencing Eorzea with players from other platforms.

This port was developed with the help of the experts at Microsoft Phil Spencer, who is an avid FFXIV player himself, having a hand in it. And if you start playing on this new version once it’s available, you’ll be able to transition effortlessly into the just announced 7.0 expansion Dawntrail.

The Xbox Series X version will also have native 4k support, similar to the PlayStation 5 port, and will also feature all the content and quality of life updates Warriors of Light have been enjoying over the past 10 years.

We’ll of course keep you updated once we’ll have a more concrete date. But for now, you can expect the Xbox version of Final Fantasy XIV to be made available in early 2024.

During the Keynote presentation, both Xbox chief Phil Spencer, FFXIV Producer Naoki Yoshida, and Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu took the stage to announce the Xbox port of Final Fantasy XIV. But that’s not all.

Square Enix CEO Takashi Kiryu, also promised that he’ll make sure that upcoming Final Fantasy and Square Enix title would make their way to Xbox. Kiryu only took over the position of Square Enix CEO in June of this year after Yosuke Matsuda retired from the post after 10 years.

After Final Fantasy and other Square Enix titles have mysteriously skipped Xbox platforms and or vanished from Game Pass, that might mean an end to the dry spell. Even if Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are temporary PlayStation exclusives. There are still Foamstars, Octopath Traveller, and Dragon Quest to look forward to.

We’ll of course keep you updated on everything XIV and Fan Fest here on ESTNN
