Ex-Copenhagen Flames dissolve six weeks after their original organization’s bankruptcy announcement 

The members of ex-Copenhagen Flames are going their separate paths and have expressed their intention to explore individual opportunities during the player break, as per the latest announcement they made. 

Ex-cph flames will not stay together after the playerbreak which means I’m now seaching for a new home. I feel I have a lot to offer to every team and I am very hungry to compete at the top!

After an eventful 10 months since their inception in August 2022 under Copenhagen Flames, the lineup has made the bittersweet decision to part ways. In a remarkable display of unity, the Danes defiantly banded together as a quintet and resolved to forge ahead in search of a new home, even in the face of their Danish organization’s bankruptcy in May.

Ex-CPHF, nevertheless, have ultimately chosen to abandon the project following a mere six weeks without any support from the organization. Despite their impressive second-place finish in the Elisa Invitational Spring turned out to be their final appearance together.

Once part of Copenhagen Flames, this team had a commendable run, emerging as a significant force in the European tier-two circuit. Their notable accomplishments included clinching first-place finishes in three CCT competitions towards the end of 2022. With several deep runs in online tournaments, their collective achievements propelled the roster to reach an impressive No. 24 ranking globally at the turn of the year. 

As the year transitioned to 2023, the team’s impressive performances on the server began to dwindle. Led by Thomas “birdfromsky” Due-Frederiksen, they managed to secure a spot in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown and achieved a commendable second-place finish in the Elisa Invitational Winter, narrowly falling short against GamerLegion. However, outside of these notable achievements, they faced difficulties in reproducing their strong form from the latter part of 2022.

The Danish-only roster was unable to secure a spot at the BLAST.tv Paris Major RMRs, ending their campaign with a disappointing 0-3 record in the closed qualifier stage. Their subsequent online performances proved to be short-lived and less successful, causing their world ranking to drop to No. 47 by the time they disbanded.
