When Wang came back into our lives in 2013, he did so via a game that was strictly a single-player affair.

Then Shadow Warrior 2 arrived some three years later, however, and things were shaken up. Environments were procedurally generated. There were bucket-loads of randomised loot. And most surprising of all, there was online co-op for up to four players. And so, with the release of Shadow Warrior 3, you might wondering what multiplayer options there are this time around.

Unfortunately, you might be disappointed if you were expecting Shadow Warrior 3 to have any multiplayer options. Going back to basics, it’s a strictly single-player affair once again, sending players on a hand-crafted roller-coaster ride of carnage. So that means there’s no online co-op, and certainly no competitive multiplayer.

It’s a shame, really, as the moment-to-moment gameplay of Shadow Warrior 3 is brilliant. And it would be even better if you could enjoy it with friends. We can only hope that Flying Wild Hog gets to make a Shadow Warrior 4. Then it might put co-op back in again, or some other type of multiplayer mode.
