How about transforming classic cars into electric ones? Well, this is already reality. And with opinions for but also against.

In 2022, we had commented on a Forbes article, indicating that the business of restoring British classic cars, replacing their conventional engines with electric motors, was growing rapidly.

Citing the company Lunaz, in addition to “significant” sales in Europe, the USA and Asia-Pacific, its electrified classic cars attract a new generation of buyers.

“These people had previously dismissed the idea of owning a top-of-the-line classic because of reliability, usability and sustainability issues… As a totally refreshed and clean expression of a classic car… making classic car ownership a proposition relevant for future generations.”

Among other things, electric motors have fewer moving parts than a traditional engine, making the car more reliable.

For more traditionalists, classic cars should be restored to their original specifications, while their conversion to electric cars would be a “sin”.

On top of that, electric cars are silent and, for some, the sound of the exhaust is an essential part of the driving experience and pleasure.

So, what do you think?
