Two renowned orgs C9 vs Fnatic will come to blows on the Worlds stage in the biggest Western bout yet for a chance to equalize their current standings and enter the Knockout stage.

The boys at Cloud9 finished 1-2 after the first week of Worlds following a scathing brush with the T1 legends that left them with no kills and less chances of reaching Quarterfinals. That said, the world-renowned LCS leader has only lost to stronger teams. The EU roster on the other hand look way better since finishing second in the LEC Season Finals.

This year’s World Championships is going into its 6th day of using the Swiss format. And with 2 teams already being eliminated, the remaining 12 pro-teams only have a couple of chances left to reach that 3-win status in the standings.

The boys in white showed up to Worlds in style after overcoming MAD in a 10-3 victory on the first day. However, Berserker’s team went on to lose their next two matches to Chinese and Korean teams, who exploited subtle mistakes in their playstyle despite Cloud9 having a draft advantage.

But despite unfortunate draws, the LCS #2 seed has fairly held its own against teams from stronger regions. Their draft picks have been smart, but they’ve lacked playmaking potential since their win over MAD, so they’ll need to rely on surprise plays to get a one-up.

Fnatic hasn’t found much success in their current run. After starting their week on a loss, they were only capable of eking out a win against a minor region before they lost to the LPL a second time. But that doesn’t mean the black-and-orange roster is out of chances yet.

Oscarinin’s top-lane has steadily gotten better since their last tournament, and Noah’s agility on the Rift lets him become a force of nature when his team helps him scale. FNC as a whole also has improved map awareness, but their organization goes down the drain when they fight teams from the LPL.
