Atlanta Reign Sign Supports Chiyo and Fielder for 2023 Season

Date:

The Atlanta Reign were the first team to make a move this offseason, and it looks like they will be one of the first to have their entire roster set for 2023. On Friday December 23, the Atlanta Reign announced the addition of two new support players, both from the Dallas Fuel. Joon “Fielder” Kwon and Hyeon-seok “Chiyo” Han are headed to Atlanta for the next season of the Overwatch League. Fielder spent the past two years with the Dallas Fuel, with Chiyo leaving Dallas after his rookie season.

Fielder joined the Overwatch League in 2020 with the Paris Eternal. Fielder gained popularity around the league after his impressive performances despite playing on incredibly high ping. After just a year with Paris, Fielder moved to the States to play for the Dallas Fuel. He continued to succeed, and received Role Star awards in both years with the Fuel.

Chiyo joined the Dallas Fuel in 2022 after finding success in Korean Contenders. While the start of his rookie campaign was relatively quiet, Chiyo really came into his own towards the back half of the year. Chiyo stepped up and was rewarded for his efforts with a Role Star award alongside Fielder.

The two now head to Atlanta in hopes to recreate their success from 2022. The Atlanta Reign have almost completely retooled their roster in order to find more consistent performances in 2023. Fielder and Chiyo join Jun “Vigilante” Kim in the Atlanta Reign backline.
