Ukraine Unveils Robot Soldier

Date:

The Ukrainian army has unveiled a robotic soldier armed with an automated weapon, vision, and sight movements.

Shown in a video to the tune of the Terminator, the first iron based soldier of sorts appears to be of the hight of an actual soldier laying down in a shooting position.

A turret, some call it, with its rectangle face looking as menacing as the bullets it shoots without pause, bram bram bram over an endless green field.

It has no movement currently in distance, though putting some wheels on it looks like an easy affair.

It can move its head however left and right, as well as up and down, with it unclear who manufactured this but the soldiers call it Wall-R.

Just like the Terminator, this too is made of iron, but unlike the Terminator its shape is not quite human, more an iron pet.

It has a fairly big box for ammunition, connected to the gun above it, and then it just shoots.

Though not autonomously. That would lack control over who it kills. This is instead controlled remotely, like a drone but for the trenches or the standing frontline positions.

It’s Ukraine’s answer to the human waves that Russia has been sending, endless dispensable meat and bone convicts and conscripts.

With these iron soldiers now, that tactic becomes more a waste of thinking soldiers, and the defense of the frontline for Ukraine becomes a lot easier.

It is unlikely to be a game changer however, but this version 0.1 of a shooting gun foretells just what will win this war and as with most wars the answer here too is technology.

The robots can hold the line while the soldiers prepare to advance. The robots can then keep guard of the newly reclaimed territory, while the soldiers lift up the blue and yellow flag.

The advance is expected at any moment now. There are reports of long queues in Crimea following a massive strike on an oil depot in Sevastopol, a city there.

Recently there have been some discussions on what Ukraine would do with Crimea if they were in a position to take it.

By the laws of war – and yes they do exist as books tell them – it would be just, as a matter of principle, for Ukraine to even take Belgorod, let alone Crimea which is theirs.

Not least because there’s a reason why Crimea ended up where it did, and it’s not as Putin tells it because of Stalin at a whim, but because there’s a very long history over Crimea and its most peaceful position is where it was.

Apparently, the security personnel was against Putin’s plans to take it in 2014, as they were against the full scale attempted invasion in 2022.

That decision in 2014 is probably the biggest strategic mistake by a great power since the World War and long term security in the whole region would probably be more re-assured if it is corrected.

Right now however Ukraine and their bots are somewhat far from Crimea, though there are some reports they have crossed the river in Kherson.

Some have high expectations. Some, perhaps these pages too, have no expectations, considering any gains as a marvel and a surprise.

But soon we may see modern European and American weaponry advance at the edges of Europe to re-instate the internationally recognized borders and to hopefully make clear once and for all – again – that the sovereignty of a democracy is inviolable.

If that message is loud then Belgorod maybe won’t be needed as additional punishment for the unprovoked attempted annexation of a peaceful nation. So good luck to the boys, and the little bots.
