Founded in 2015, Tide provides SME business accounts, with 370,000 members in the UK and plans to launch in India. It has raised over £200 million in funding to date.

Krieger joined Tide in early 2017 as chief operating officer (COO) and added the chief product officer responsibilities the following year. He became Tide’s CEO in January 2021.

Prior to that, Krieger was COO of Revolut.

Writing about his departure on LinkedIn, he says he’s “extremely grateful” to those who have been on the Tide journey with him. Among these he mentions George Bevis, former CEO and founder of Tide, who brought Krieger into the business when Tide was Bevis’ “newborn baby”.

“Tide has a fantastically bright future and is without doubt the best team. I remain its biggest fan and will be cheering from the sidelines,” Krieger says.

He is yet to unveil his next venture, but confirms he’ll continue to be “fully engaged” in the fintech space.
