Visitors to Snohomish now have a new public service: Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations from SemaConnect. The four new Series 6 charging stations are installed at 1513 1st Street.

Washington State has established a goal to fully electrify all new car sales by 2030. With over 50,000 electric vehicles already registered, Washington is one of the leading states for electrification. As the first public charging stations in the area, the new SemaConnect stations will encourage more EV drivers to make Snohomish their next destination.

The four SemaConnect Series 6 charging stations are mounted on two dual pedestals and designed for harsh weather. With the J1772 plug, these Level 2 charging stations are compatible with all plug-in electric cars that visit Snohomish. Interactive LED lights show station status at a glance, so city officials and drivers alike can easily see if a station is available or charging. With the SemaConnect Network, Public Works Department officials can manage access, set pricing to recoup energy costs, and download usage and sustainability reports.

“Our goal as a city is to support residents and local businesses, which is why we chose to buy SemaConnect charging stations,” said John T. Kartak, mayor of Snohomish. “Our new EV charging stations will encourage EV drivers to visit Snohomish, knowing they can charge while running errands or exploring our city. We invite electric car drivers to plug in and discover all that Snohomish has to offer.”
