Date:

The full play-by-play on the Team Vitality vs MAD Lions KOI LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs series in Week 3.

LEC 2024 Spring Playoffs continues onto the third week, and the second series match-up pit the well-rounded Team Vitality against last split’s dark horse: MAD Lions KOI.

Skirmishing potential was king here as teamplay comps won out more than others. Popular meta picks like Azir and Rakan were among the top picks in the best-of-three (or “bo3”), while big fights centered on big objective takes gave the teams a winning edge.

The LEC’s constant evolution can make tracking your favorite rosters difficult. That’s why we’ve listed the big plays and lowest points of every match in our Team Vitality vs MAD Lions KOI recap below!

Team Vitality vs MAD Lions KOI

Game 1

Team Vitality vs MAD Lions KOI

Small advantage game from Vitality early on as the French roster moved around the map with precision despite losing kills to MDK. Even still, the scoreboard stayed close as kills were traded between VIT and MAD Lions KOI.

Fortunately, Photon and co. were able to keep their cool throughout the first game to eke out a win using the objectives they conquered in the midgame. Surprisingly, a fast and easy brawl landed in Vitality’s favor as a bad fight broke MDK’s midlane wide open, costing them the game.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: Team Vitality 1 – 0 MAD Lions KOI
  • Game Time: 26:26
  • Gold: 50.6k – 46.1k
  • Kills: (First Blood) 18 – 14
  • Turrets: (First Turret) 7 – 4
  • Dragons: 2 – 1
  • Barons: 0 – 0

Game 2

Team Vitality vs MAD Lions KOI

Photon’s team focused their comp on back-to-front combat champs to counter MDK’s brawl roster. And despite the Spanish roster playing to their strengths, the fight was still a big struggle that could’ve landed eitherway.

With better set-up for first Drake, it was important for MDK to apply pressure on bot. But despite having a second Fire Drake in the palm of their hands, Daglas somehow found the Smite that turned it all around.

From there, the game was a constant back-and-forth as MDK played hyper-aggressively to overcome Vitality’s roster. However, Carzzy’s discipline put him in safe positions to wreck the opposition while they weren’t looking. And in the deciding teamfight, MAD Lions KOI staggered in the very last minute, giving Vitality everything they needed to run it down bot and mid.

Quick Stats:

  • Teams: Team Vitality 2 – 0 MAD Lions KOI
  • Game Time: 31:46
  • Gold: 61.7k – 51.6k
  • Kills: 20 – 10 (First Blood)
  • Turrets: (First Turret) 9 – 2
  • Dragons: 3 – 2
  • Barons: 1 – 0

Team Vitality head to the best-of-five stage, where they’ll make a beeline towards a possible miracle play against Fnatic and, eventually, the top team in EMEA. Curious to see who’ll come out on top? Visit ESTNN for the latest recaps!
