This release has been designed to feature graphically enhanced and improved gameplay. One can play with up to three friends in its local co-op mode as they take on powerful opponents in real-time battles, combining hundreds of special attacks and magic spells in the process. Bringing everything together are cel-shaded characters that have been designed by artist Kosuke Fujishima.

The game will come out for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 17. The Chosen Edition of the game will come with the full Tales of Symphonia Remastered video game, a metal case, art prints, and stickers.
